Compared with the rest of the week, today seemed easy by comparison since I only had a few meetings today. However, I quickly became buried in a bunch of work, some of which was planned and some that came in throughout the day that needed to be dealt with before leaving the office.
Read MoreIt was a chilly night thus making it a fantastic night for sleeping. I only slept for around 6.25 hours but 4.5 hours of that was deep sleep. I typically get 3-4 hours of deep sleep per night so even though I got less than 7 hours of sleep, I still felt pretty good.
Read MoreThough I didn’t get more sleep, including deep sleep, than I usually do, it was one of those mornings where I woke up feeling as though I had slept hard the entire night. Today continued this week's trend of back-to-back meetings including two 1.5 hour meetings. All of my meetings were great and productive but I was tired by the time my meetings finished around 3p.
Read MoreI slept well overnight but had trouble falling asleep so I was only able to get 6.75 hours of sleep. What made me happy, though, was that I only woke up once during the night similar to the night before. I had a crazy day of back-to-back meetings from 9:30a-4:00p including a lunch for a new member of our team who’s first day was today. This entire week will be non-stop with meetings until Friday when I finally get some larger blocks of time to get project work done.
Read MoreI slept hard last night, getting 8.5 hours of rest with 4.5 hours of it being deep sleep. I only woke up once and that was because of several emergency vehicles outside. My body definitely needed the rest and I felt completely refreshed when I woke up. Surprisingly my legs weren't as sore as I had anticipated. They were sore but more similar to how my legs feel after a 5K run.
Read MoreEven though I climbed into bed around 9:30p I wasn’t able to calm my nerves so it was a rough night of sleep. When my alarm went off in the morning I checked my UP app and saw that I had slept throughout the night, though I woke 5 times during the night. I did, however, surpass my sleep goal and was able to get 7.75 hours of sleep.
Read MoreIt was nice to have a “normal” Friday which meant working from home and thus not waking up to an alarm. Well, not waking up to my phone alarm. I still had Sasha and Darren as my pet alarms. I was able to get into an early groove and crush through several deliverables that needed to get finished and others that I wanted to get ahead on.
Read MoreI had a better night of sleep last night though I woke up at 11:40p thinking that it was already around 5:00a. That was great in my opinion because it made the rest of the night seem like bonus sleep. While I typically drink approximately 3 liters of water per day, yesterday through tomorrow I have increased that to a goal of a gallon of water. That means keeping track throughout the day to ensure that I am tracking properly.
Read MoreI had a fitful night of sleep last night, waking up several times either to go to the bathroom, due to a loud noise outside or just to turn over. Of course it was the first night that I was wearing my new UP band so I got to see all of the evidence in the morning when I looked at the app. I was still able to get 6.75 hours of sleep so that was good.
Read MoreIt’s always nice the first night after completing a round of chemo. Inevitably I end up walking in to the kitchen expecting to have to take my anti-nausea and chemo meds when it hits me that I’m all set for another few weeks. As usual with it being Tuesday, I had a number of meetings throughout the day making it difficult to get meaningful progress made on other projects, though all of my meetings were very good and productive.
Read MoreThankfully Sasha let me sleep through the night without any issues, allowing me to wake up at 5:45a to kick off the work week. I wasn’t feel nauseous when I woke up which meant that I made it through this round of chemo without any issues during the overnights or mornings.
Read MoreDuring the week I wake up at 5:50-6:00a. On the weekends I will typically wake up between 6:00-7:30a, depending on when Sasha and Darren wake me up. Today they thought that 5:30a sounded swell. I kept drifting in/out of sleep for another 15 minutes but finally gave up and got up.
Read MoreI only woke up once during the night which is better than normal especially during my week on chemo. After having to deal with cleaning up after Sasha, who didn’t have such a great night, I went over to the gym for a low intensity cardio workout. I wanted to test my ankle after giving it a few days to rest. I decided to try 30 minutes on the elliptical even though I normally would put in 60-90 minutes on Saturday.
Read MoreTypically I work from home on Fridays but today I had to go into the office for a couple of in-person meetings. When I woke up my body felt fine and I didn’t have any dizziness or nausea getting out of bed. Usually I have Greek yogurt with strawberries, blueberries and granola along with a banana and natural peanut butter for breakfast. However, today being Day 2 seemed to be the day that my loss of hunger decided to kick in.
Read MoreI woke up a couple of times throughout the night. Like usual I sat on the edge of the bed for a second to gather myself and ensure that I wasn’t nauseous before standing up. Throughout the day I felt strong and had no issues with powering through my meetings. Though I typically lose my appetite later during the round, I still had my appetite today which was good.
