Day 347: A Busy Wednesday Before a Team Dinner
It was a chilly night thus making it a fantastic night for sleeping. I only slept for around 6.25 hours but 4.5 hours of that was deep sleep. I typically get 3-4 hours of deep sleep per night so even though I got less than 7 hours of sleep, I still felt pretty good.
When I woke up this morning I still had soreness in my high ankle so I was glad that I had a rest day scheduled for today.
It’s easy to allow a nagging injury or soreness to derail your focus on fitness. Even when I have slight injuries or severe soreness I try allowing those muscles to heal while shifting my workouts to focus on other muscle groups.
There are times, though, when you do need to take a couple of days off to completely allow an injury to heal. It’s not worth future issues by trying to push through a real injury.
Today turned into a blur of meetings, emails and trying to process paperwork that needed to get done. I was happy with how productive the day was. I love those days where it feels like everything clicks.
As the day continued I was happy that the my ankle soreness went away. Hopefully by tomorrow it’ll feel back to 100% in time for me to get my workout in.
Towards the end of the day I grabbed drinks with a couple of friends before heading to a team dinner tonight. It’s always nice getting to spend time outside of the office with people who are not only colleagues but also friends.
By the time I came home it was already pretty late so we watched a couple episodes of The Office before crashing.
