Day 338: Celebrating with Bubbles
Thankfully Sasha let me sleep through the night without any issues, allowing me to wake up at 5:45a to kick off the work week.
I wasn’t feel nauseous when I woke up which meant that I made it through this round of chemo without any issues during the overnights or mornings.
I had several meetings today and took time to set up the rest of my work week since I didn’t complete my weekly review yesterday as I usually try to do.
With the Spartan race coming up on Saturday I wanted to get in a workout today and will plan on getting in another one tomorrow before giving my body a few days to rest.
Since it will be my first Spartan race I want to ensure that my body is well rested and ready. Though they tweak the races each year and at each location, I know that after completing my first race I will have a better idea of what my weaknesses are and how I need to prepare in the future.
Today’s WOD should have been called “The Quad Burner” because I could barely feel my legs by the end of it:
Warm-up
- Dynamic warm up
- Jump rope 5 minutes
Main set
- 3 x 15 burpees
- 3 x 15 bodyweight squats
- 3 x 15 jumping lunges
- 5 x 15-yard bear crawl
- Cycle 15 minutes at high intensity
Cool Down
- Stretch
I came home dripping in sweat knowing that I got in a strong legs and cardio workout.
When Laura came home from work we popped open a bottle of Chandon ètoile Brut to celebrate finishing the 5th round of chemo.
I’m really glad to have gotten through this last round of chemo since I was more fatigued than I have been during other rounds.
