I was able to get 7+ hours of sleep last night even though I did wake up twice during the night. When I first woke up at around 1:00a I thought that it was 6:00a. It always feels like bonus sleep when you think it’s later then it really is. Yesterday my meetings were back to back thus giving me the day to focus on other work. Today was a completely different story.
Read MoreThis week got off to a fairly easy start with only two meetings scheduled this morning. I wanted to try giving myself as much time today to work through projects before vacation since tomorrow and Thursday I have several meetings and Friday I’ll be out of pocket for 1/2 the day with the visit to UCSF.
Read MoreLast night I was able to sleep for 8.5 hours which is a hard feat to accomplish given how crazy Sasha and Darren are in the mornings. Laura and I spent a bit of time relaxing before running a couple errands in preparation for vacation next week. When we came back home we headed out for our usual 3.7 mile walk through Communications Hill.
Read MoreIt was the first night in a while that I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night. Laura had an early hair appointment so instead of waking up and going straight to the gym, I walked next door to get us breakfast. Once Laura left I went over to the gym for today’s WOD, which was the same one that I accomplished last Saturday.
Read MoreFridays are nice since I don’t have to head out by a certain time to get to my office so it gives me a bit more time to sleep before getting up. With only a few meetings on the calendar it gave me time to catch up on and start a number of projects. I also took a bit of time to chat with a friend of mine who just came back from a political hotspot overseas where she had been for the better part of a year doing work for her company’s client.
Read MoreWith only 9 days before we head down to Cabo for a week I was finally able to see what Saturday’s forecast will be when we land in Mexico. As expected, it will be 91 degrees, hot and cloudless. On my drive in to work today I enjoyed listening to the latest episode of Tim Ferriss’ podcast which was an interview with former White House chef Sam Kass.
Read MoreWhile driving into work this morning, as usual, I listened to a couple of podcasts. One of them was an episode of the Spartan Up! podcast This episode was an interview between Joe De Sena and current Twitter CEO, Dick Costolo. During the interview, which I highly recommend that you watch/listen to, they talk about the best way to move forward is to start with just making your bed then just getting dressed, etc.
Read MoreThis morning got off to a rocky start because Laura didn’t sleep well and was feeling sick this morning. I took time to help take care of her so that she could rest for a few more hours before heading into her office late. The theme of this week seems to be back-to-back meetings all day long. I only had about an hour free around lunch and a bit of time at the end of the day with 7 meetings packed in throughout the day.
Read MoreThis morning started off with an early conference call while I was driving into the office. I usually try to use my drive into the office to listen to a podcast or two while using my drive home to listen to music. But, today I had to have an early call to accommodate several schedules.
Read MoreSasha and Darren decided to follow up yesterday’s 6:30a wake-up by getting me up at 6:10a this morning. After taking care of them I sat down to do some reading and catch up online when I suddenly was overcome with another wave of fatigue similar to what I felt on Friday. I ended up falling back asleep for 30 minutes before finally waking up for the day, even though I remained exhausted for the majority of the day.
Read MoreI’m usually able to sleep until 7-7:15a on weekend mornings but today Darren started running around like a crazy cat so I ended up popping out of bed at 6:30a. After taking care of Sasha and Darren, I went next door to the gym to tackle today’s WOD.
Read MoreIt was nice to get a complete night of sleep without waking up - quite different than the night before when I woke up with a stomach ache and then woke up another time to use the restroom. For the first time in a few weeks I worked from home today, which turned out to be a good thing because it was the most fatigued that I felt all week.
Read MoreI woke up in the middle of the night with one of the worse stomach aches that I’ve had during chemo. It only took me a few minutes to fall back asleep but it didn’t feel great for the time that I was awake. The only other time I felt that bad was when I was coming home from the gym one evening. That time I think I had just pushed my body too hard.
Read MoreWhen I woke up this morning I had to take a minute on the edge of the bed and take a deep breath again before getting the day going. What was different from yesterday was that I was able to move at full speed this morning and I was able to leave at my normal time.
Read MoreI was able to sleep through the night with only waking up once. When I woke up both overnight and this morning I felt pretty good. I had to sit on the edge of the bed for a second to take a deep breath before finally getting the day started.
