Day 315: Outlet Shopping and A Low-Key Night at Home

It was the first night in a while that I didn’t wake up in the middle of the night.

Laura had an early hair appointment so instead of waking up and going straight to the gym, I walked next door to get us breakfast.

Once Laura left I went over to the gym for today’s WOD, which was the same one that I accomplished last Saturday:

Warm-up

2 miles - elliptical (~70% MHR)

Main Set

  • 25 push-ups
  • 25 squats
  • 20 mountain climbers
  • ½ mile elliptical at high intensity (~70% MHR)
  • 10 squat jumps
  • 50-yard lunge walk
  • 10 lunge jumps
  • 20 flutter kicks
  • 10 side-to-side hops

1 mile elliptical to cool down and then stretch (~70% MHR)

Last Saturday when I did this workout I ran on the treadmill but this morning I used the elliptical to alleviate soreness in my high ankle.

Swapping the treadmill and elliptical didn’t help to make the workout any easier and had me covered in sweat by the time I left.

Usually I workout on a 3-1-2-1 schedule so that I get 2 rest days per week but since I missed Monday’s workout I skipped Thursday’s rest day.

Though my body was sore from my earlier workouts this week, I was still able to push through my 5th workout in a row.

When Laura came back home we decided to go down to the Gilroy Outlets to get out of the house for a while and do a bit of shopping.

It was a very hot day in Gilroy with temperatures hitting 100 degrees at one point - that’s even hotter than it will be next week when we’re in Cabo.

We enjoyed a low-key night at home with a snack plate and re-watching Captain America: The Winter Solider.

We don’t have a lot of errands to run tomorrow since we’ll be on vacation next weekend so we’re looking forward to going for a walk tomorrow.
