Day 314: Inspiring People in Other Countries
Fridays are nice since I don’t have to head out by a certain time to get to my office so it gives me a bit more time to sleep before getting up.
With only a few meetings on the calendar it gave me time to catch up on and start a number of projects.
I also took a bit of time to chat with a friend of mine who just came back from a political hotspot overseas where she had been for the better part of a year doing work for her company’s client.
When we were talking she mentioned to me that when she was there she continually took inspiration from my updates.
She explained that by reading she knew that she would be able to push through the hardships caused by being an American and a woman in the country where she was, where both of those could have easily made her a target.
It is still humbling every time I hear about how my story and these updates help, affect and inspire people. It brings me great joy to know that I am able to make even a sliver of a positive impact on someone else’s life.
Since there are still some issues with the Spartan website, I completed the same WOD from last Friday:
Warm-Up:
- 10 medicine ball push-ups
- 10 double leg butt kicks
- 2 minutes jump rope
Main Set
Do one minute of each:
- Mountain climbers
- Spiderman push-up
- Plank
- Inverted pull-ups
- Medicine ball sit-ups (12 lb medicine ball)
- Squat jumps
Similar to last week, as I went in to the workout I was confident that I would be able to complete more than one round because it looked rather easy. However, by the end of it my body was destroyed and I was covered in sweat.
Laura was stuck at her office until late trying to close out on a few critical projects before we go on vacation. Once she got home we decided to go out for dinner, drinks and to watch the Giants game at a local restaurant.
It’s great to know that a week from now we’ll be packing up for a week away in Cabo. We’re both so excited!
