Day 350: The Stationary Bike, Sasha's Weight and Ant-Man

Though I didn’t fall asleep until 1:00a I was still able to get 3.75 hours of deep sleep. It would have been nice to sleep in a bit but Sasha ensured that I woke up by 7:00a. For today’s workout I attacked my least favorite piece of cardio equipment: the stationary bike. Before starting my workout I took time to stretch my shoulders, upper back and legs. I haven’t done as good of a job stretching my shoulders out over the last few days.

Day 349: A Perfect Night for a Baseball Game

Since we were going to watch the San Francisco Giants vs the Oakland Athletics in the 1st “Battle of the Bay” game tonight, I had to drop Laura off at work. Instead of coming back home to work for the day I decided to go into my office since I was already halfway there. Fridays are typically very quiet in our office since so many people opt to work from home thus it can be a great day for getting a lot of work done when you are one of the few there.

Day 346: Getting Back to Cardio

Though I didn’t get more sleep, including deep sleep, than I usually do, it was one of those mornings where I woke up feeling as though I had slept hard the entire night. Today continued this week's trend of back-to-back meetings including two 1.5 hour meetings. All of my meetings were great and productive but I was tired by the time my meetings finished around 3p.

Day 345: Back into the Lab

I slept well overnight but had trouble falling asleep so I was only able to get 6.75 hours of sleep. What made me happy, though, was that I only woke up once during the night similar to the night before. I had a crazy day of back-to-back meetings from 9:30a-4:00p including a lunch for a new member of our team who’s first day was today. This entire week will be non-stop with meetings until Friday when I finally get some larger blocks of time to get project work done.

Day 344: The Day After My Spartan Race

I slept hard last night, getting 8.5 hours of rest with 4.5 hours of it being deep sleep. I only woke up once and that was because of several emergency vehicles outside. My body definitely needed the rest and I felt completely refreshed when I woke up. Surprisingly my legs weren't as sore as I had anticipated. They were sore but more similar to how my legs feel after a 5K run.

Day 341: Spartan Race Details and Seeing Kevin Hart

I had a better night of sleep last night though I woke up at 11:40p thinking that it was already around 5:00a. That was great in my opinion because it made the rest of the night seem like bonus sleep. While I typically drink approximately 3 liters of water per day, yesterday through tomorrow I have increased that to a goal of a gallon of water. That means keeping track throughout the day to ensure that I am tracking properly.

Day 339: The Good and Bad of the UP2

It’s always nice the first night after completing a round of chemo. Inevitably I end up walking in to the kitchen expecting to have to take my anti-nausea and chemo meds when it hits me that I’m all set for another few weeks. As usual with it being Tuesday, I had a number of meetings throughout the day making it difficult to get meaningful progress made on other projects, though all of my meetings were very good and productive.

Day 336: Minions, Mini-Golf & Ice Cream

I only woke up once during the night which is better than normal especially during my week on chemo. After having to deal with cleaning up after Sasha, who didn’t have such a great night, I went over to the gym for a low intensity cardio workout. I wanted to test my ankle after giving it a few days to rest. I decided to try 30 minutes on the elliptical even though I normally would put in 60-90 minutes on Saturday.
