It was another night of waking up twice overnight. It is probably because I have to drink a full glass of water right before bed while taking my chemo pills. I didn’t feel nauseous or fatigued when I woke up which was great so I took my pre-workout drink and got ready to head to the gym. While waiting for my pre-workout to kick in I sat down to tackle several emails and approve a few Synergy-related projects/tasks.
Read MoreI ended waking up twice during the night and, even though I didn’t set an alarm, I was up only 30 minutes later than my usual alarm. Based on how Sasha was whining I thought that I had been able to sleep an extra 1-1.5 hours. I was a bit fatigued when I woke up but the nausea wasn’t nearly what it was yesterday morning. After taking Sasha out I climbed back into bed for a bit before getting the day started.
Read MoreI woke up once in the middle of the night and felt a bit off when I first stood up but I wasn’t awake long enough for anything to set in. When I woke up this morning it was the most nauseous I have felt during chemo so far. It took several minutes of taking slow, deep breaths for the nausea to subside.
Read MoreLast night I was able to get back to my normal 7 hours of sleep, clocking in at nearly 7.5 hours. I got to the office this morning and walked right into 4 hours of meetings back-to-back with only a couple of minutes in between each - basically enough time to refill my water bottle and run to the restroom. But, once those meetings ended at 1:00p I had the rest of the afternoon to actually tackle work.
Read MoreIt always seems to be the 22nd day. Right after writing about how I had hit the second 21-day sleep streak, I only slept for 6.5 hours last night including waking up twice during the night. From start to end, today was a complete blur. Non-stop meetings, small fires and last-minute planning for Synergy, our customer event.
Read MoreThough I just barely got it with 7:09 hours of sleep last night, I hit a 21-day streak for only the second time in 1.5 years of using my UP24 band. I popped right out of bed this morning and hustled out the door so that I could stop to get my blood work done before heading into my office.
Read MoreIt’s nice to wake up on Sunday mornings with no alarm and nothing to do until Laura wakes up since they are a rest day for me. I spent a bit of time catching up on news including industry, sports, friends and the like before starting my weekly review earlier than usual.
Read MoreDarren thought it would be fun to run at full speed across us, starting around 6:00a and going until I finally got up just after 7:00a. Of course, every time Darren sprinted across us, Sasha would start whining. Once taking care of them, it was over to the gym for an endurance workout.
Read MoreAs usual on Friday, it was nice waking up without an alarm, even if it was only 30 minutes later than usual. I try keeping a lighter schedule on Fridays so that I can close out the week catching up on email, little tasks and projects however, that was not the case today. Today was packed with 7 meetings and only a few minutes to inhale lunch while trying to answer emails in between bites.
Read MoreWhile walking Sasha this morning I felt the same soreness in my ankles that I felt a few weeks ago. I will need to take some dedicated time working through ankle mobilizations tomorrow to ensure that the soreness goes away quickly.
Read MoreWhen I woke up this morning I had a terrible knot in my lower back, probably from my workout yesterday. Today I spent the entire day in a values-driven leadership training course. It’s not often that I’m able to take a break for training and there is never a great time for it but it is important.
Read MoreWhen I woke up this morning I immediately thought of the couple that we had meant yesterday. My alarm is set for 6:00a which meant that when I woke up they would already be checking in for the brain surgery.
Read MoreToday I hit a new 14-day streak for sleep which made me really happy. Some nights I barely get 7 hours of sleep but I do prioritize it so even on nights when I don’t get 7 hours, I’m just under that goal. We ended up hitting a horrendous wall of traffic as soon as we got on the highway which caused us to arrive at UCSF 25 minutes late for my MRI check-in time. Even though it was out of our control, that 25 minutes would end up costing us nearly 2.5 hours today due to the hospital staff having to fit me back into a packed MRI schedule.
Read MoreWhen I woke up at 7:05a this morning I immediately became worried that something happened since Sasha hadn’t woken me up. Fortunately all was well. It was a relief that today was a rest day because my legs and upper back were really sore after my workouts the last couple of days.
Read MoreEven though I slept for about my normal 7.5 hours of sleep, it was one of those nights where I felt as though I slept harder than other nights. When I woke up I went over to the gym to tackle today’s WOD.
