Day 258: A Mile and 30 Burpees for Time

Though it was only an additional 45 minutes, it was nice getting to sleep in since I worked from home today. It was another day of non-stop meetings, bringing my total for this week to 30 meetings. It was actually a fairly normal week for the number of meetings that I had but with our conference coming up, meetings popped up leaving limited time to get other work done.

Day 255: Insanely Hard Hill Intervals

For a few weeks, no matter how much I slept, I still only got between 2.5-3 hours of deep sleep. However, the past several nights I have gotten 4 hours or more. I’m not sure what has changed but I’m not complaining. Today was another non-stop day of meetings. No matter how many years I’ve been through it, every year I seem to forget just how crazy Synergy gets in the weeks leading up to the event, especially with last-minute requests.

Day 254: More Progress with Pull-Ups

It was great waking up at 1:30a and feeling as though I had slept all night. That meant the other 4.5 hours felt like “extra” sleep, even though that wasn’t the case. Today was a busy day with meetings unevenly spaced so that I didn’t have real time to do any work until 2:30p, thus only giving me about 1.5 hours before having to leave to head home.

Day 253: A Lazy Sunday

It was nice getting another 7.5 hours of sleep last night but what was even nicer was getting nearly 5 hours of deep sleep. Today was a much needed rest day from my workouts. Even though I spent time yesterday rolling out my legs, my right calf was still really sore this morning after yesterday’s cardio session.

Day 251: Alternating Between Running and Burpees

Fridays are nice because I don’t set an alarm. I do wake up with Laura’s alarm but it is set for 45 minutes later than mine is. That doesn’t always make Sasha happy but she deals with it. It was nice working from home today, getting to hang out with Sasha and Darren. Though I really enjoy going into my office since I work with amazing friends and colleagues, it is nice to take Sasha for a walk mid-morning too.

Day 249: 249 Days in a Row

Today was a non-stop day jumping from meeting to meeting while trying to squeeze in some work during the downtime. During the day I didn’t stop to charge my Jawbone UP24 so from 11:30a-5:30p it didn’t track anything, including the 8 flights of stairs that I climbed during that time. I average 15-20 flights of stairs per day.

Day 247: Going Into My Office While Fatigued

During these first two rounds of chemo I have needed at least 8 hours of sleep per night to feel ok in the morning. Last night I only got 5.5 hours before my alarm went off to get ready for work. In my infinite wisdom I decided that the day I would push myself to go into the office would be the morning after being out late and not getting sufficient sleep. Of course, I didn’t realize this until I was in the shower, already waking up and committed to the idea.

Day 244: Getting Through Suffer-Fest

I was able to sleep throughout the night and was able to fall back asleep for a bit after taking care of Sasha and Darren. I didn’t feel any nausea when I got out of bed which was nice. Though I didn’t have any meetings today, I did have several projects that I needed to move forward today including going through a list of 4,500 blog tags. Well, not 4,500 but pretty close to it. It’s all part of our blog upgrade project and, as you can guess, the majority of these tags were created before my team started managing it.
