Our timing was a bit off last night by the time we ate dinner so it delayed when I could take my chemo. I also ended up waking up a few times throughout the night. Both of those combined meant that I was more tired than I usually am when my alarm goes off.
Read MoreI didn’t have any issues sleeping overnight and wasn’t dizzy when I woke up this morning. That’s always the first win of the day during chemo week. I had purposely scheduled a light day of meetings today just in case there were any issues with the chemo. Though I don’t usually have problems, the first day of each round I’m always a bit nervous that my luck is going to run out.
Read MoreWhen I woke up this morning I decided to not workout because I had worked out three days in a row. I am scheduled to work out, at least, the next two days (Monday and Tuesday) depending on whether we have our date night on Wednesday or Thursday.
Read MoreIt was another night of light sleep getting only 2.5 hours of deep sleep. Sasha and Darren started trying to wake me up around 5:30a but I managed to stay in bed until 6:30a when I finally got up. My legs were already sore and tired from yesterday but my ankle was feeling fine. With Saturday typically being a longer cardio day I rode the elliptical for 45 minutes at a higher level than usual while trying to keep my heart rate around 75% of my MHR.
Read MoreEven though I went to sleep 15 minutes earlier than usual and slept 45 minutes later than I do during the rest of the week, I only got 1.75 hours of deep sleep according to my UP band. It’s the least amount of deep sleep that I can remember getting since tracking my sleep. I’m not really sure why I didn’t sleep well except for having weird dreams. I went through my normal nightly routines, it was a great night for sleeping and I slept in.
Read MoreIt was cool and rained overnight thus making it a wonderful night for sleep. On my way in to work I had to stop to get my Day 28 blood labs taken care of. Sadly it was the last time having the phlebotomist who I’ve come to know over the last several months. He’s moving on to a hospital from working at Quest.
Read MoreWith the cooler nights it has been great sleeping weather, especially being able to wrap up in our oversized duvet. My ankle wasn’t sore after my elliptical workout last night. During my workout I noticed that I was allowing my ankle to collapse in so I tried to be cognizant of it which hopefully helped.
Read MoreMy right ankle felt better this morning when I woke up. It seems to be the cycle - two days of soreness and pain before it starts to feel better, as long as I lay off of it. Who knows when I’ll get a chance to go have it looked at but it will need to be within the next few weeks, well before my GORUCK Light in November.
Read MoreMy right ankle and lower shin were significantly sore and in pain with each step I took when I woke up this morning. It’s gotten to the point that I’m going to need to wave the proverbial white flag and get it looked at soon. My guess is that it’s a stress fracture or something similar to that.
Read MoreI was able to sleep until a little past 7:00a before the animals finally woke me up. That is a monumental accomplishment since they usually start around 5:30a and continue on/off until I finally give in by 6:30a. I slept for over eight hours last night, hitting a three day streak, but got under three hours of deep sleep.
Read MoreWith temperatures in the mid-50s last night, I slept hard overnight only waking up to turn over a couple of times. Yesterday was the first time in nearly two weeks that I had completed a workout that involved a high volume of squats and lunges. This morning I could feel the results of that work when I tried to get out of bed.
Read MoreThe morning started out with getting my Day 21 blood work done which was quick and easy as usual. I talked with my phlebotomist about getting my Day 28 blood work done in November when we’re back in CT for Thanksgiving. As it is scheduled now, I will need to have blood taken on Black Friday to stay on schedule.
Read MoreIt was another beautiful night for sleeping even though I fell asleep a bit later than usual. By the time we came home from dinner, published my update and wound down it was around 11:00p. We typically try to wind down by 9:30p so that we can fall asleep by 10:15-10:30p.
Read MoreThe beautiful breeze of yesterday continued through the night thus making for a perfect night of sleep. Waking up in the morning has been increasingly hard for me over the last 2 weeks because of it being dark when I wake up. As with most people, it makes me want to just turn over and go back to sleep.
Read MoreAfter only having a single meeting yesterday, today was filled with back-to-back meetings with the exception of a short break for lunch. Long days filled with a lot of meetings require a certain amount of stamina and capacity to switch topics quickly, retain information and provide a variety of updates depending on the meeting.
