Day 422: The First Day of the 8th Round of Chemo

I didn’t have any issues sleeping overnight and wasn’t dizzy when I woke up this morning. That’s always the first win of the day during chemo week.

I had purposely scheduled a light day of meetings today just in case there were any issues with the chemo. Though I don’t usually have problems, the first day of each round I’m always a bit nervous that my luck is going to run out.

I was able to stay productive throughout the day. I even had a chance to check out the third Tesla Model X to be delivered, thanks to our CEO who receives one of the founder’s editions of each new Tesla vehicle.

Simply put: the vehicle is everything that the media has been writing about leading up to the launch. It’s incredible and it has a bio-hazard mode just in case it is ever needed.

Though it’s my week on chemo, as usual, I wanted to push myself through a workout. I decided to focus on an upper body lifting session:

Warm Up

  • Dynamic stretching

Main Set

  • Bench press - 4 sets x 15, 12, 10, 8 reps
  • Low cable chest fly - 3 sets x 12 reps per set
  • Tricep pushdowns - 4 sets x 12, 10, 8, 6 reps
  • One arm tricep extension - 3 sets x 15 reps per set
  • Lat pulldowns - 4 sets x 12, 10, 8, 6 reps
  • Bicep curls - 4 sets x 12, 10, 6, 4 reps per set
  • Front raises - 3 sets x 15 reps per set

It was a very hard session since I added more exercises and additional reps to each exercise.

I didn’t have time to add in any ab or oblique exercises but I will ensure that I target my core later on in the week.

After months of forgetting I finally scheduled a chair massage for tomorrow. We have a massage therapist who comes to our campus every Tuesday to provide chair massages yet I never remember.
