It was another morning of waking up without my alarm even though Laura had to set her alarm for 30 minutes earlier. It still helped me to get just shy of 8 hours of sleep last night. With only one meeting today it gave me a good opportunity to close out the week on a number of projects, follow-ups, etc before the weekend kicked in.
Read MoreSince I wasn’t heading in to my office this morning I was able to sleep without an alarm which helped me to sleep in an extra 45 minutes before Laura’s alarm went off. That extra 45 minutes helped me to get 7.5 hours of sleep, even with waking up two times last night again.
Read MoreI just barely missed hitting my sleep goal today by 5 measly minutes. I blame that on waking up twice during the night. I had a really tough time waking up this morning, staying asleep for 5-7 minutes after my alarm started going off. That never happens to me. I always pop out of bed the second the alarm starts going off, wanting to turn silence it before it wakes Laura up since she sleeps for another hour.
Read MoreA police helicopter flying overhead made it difficult to fall asleep. Whether it’s the local police or county sheriff’s department, they deploy the helicopter frequently as we hear it regularly. The 4:45a alarm came quickly this morning especially with waking up a few times with the fear of oversleeping my alarm.
Read MoreIt was a great feeling to nail my sleep goal for another night last night. That will, unfortunately, come to an end tonight since I have to wake up at 4:45a to bring Adrian to the airport. I wanted to be back home before Adrian woke up and before Laura left for work so I swapped my Wednesday workout this week to today. Though a quick burpee ladder, it was an effective workout to torch my legs.
Read MoreLast night’s 8 hours of sleep earned me a 3-day streak. Part of this has been walking a lot (10,000+ steps/day) and waking up without an alarm. I have been falling asleep a bit later than usual so it wasn’t from going to bed earlier.
Read MoreI was happy to string together my second 7+ hour night of sleep after missing the mark for three nights in a row earlier this week. Though Saturdays are usually reserved for a long cardio session, I only had time to get in a quick workout so I tackled another 20 minutes on the elliptical.
Read MoreAfter such a late night the previous night I was happy to fall asleep by around 10:00p including reading for 15-20 minutes beforehand. When I woke up I headed over to the gym for a quick 20 minute elliptical session. I had originally planned on either doing the Spartan WOD or a longer elliptical session but wanted to make sure I got back home before Laura left and Adrian woke up.
Read MoreWe stayed up until midnight catching up which is 1.5-2 hours later than I’m used to staying up. I knew I would be tired when I woke up but it was still worth it. Today was my rest day from the gym but for the next few days I will workout in the morning before my friend wakes up.
Read MoreI know that I should use my TriggerPoint GRID on a nightly basis but I don’t use it as often as I should. When I woke up this morning I felt the affects of not using it as my hamstrings, glutes, hips and lower back were even more sore than they were yesterday.
Read MoreThough I slept an average of 1-1.5 hours less than I have over the past week, I was able to get almost an additional hour of deep sleep which was great. When I woke up I was already sore in my lower back, hamstrings and glutes from yesterday’s 15 minutes at a 15% incline on the treadmill.
Read MoreIt felt like I had slept really well but, though I hit a 5 day streak, I snapped back to getting under 3 hours of deep sleep. Today was already gearing up to be a light day of meetings however after a couple of meetings were moved I ended up not having a single meeting throughout the day.
Read MoreI was able to string together another 8 hours of sleep last night including getting nearly 5 hours of deep sleep. After not getting more than 2.5 hours of deep sleep during my eighth round of chemo, this weekend was nice to get my sleep back on track. I went to the gym this morning with the goal of beating what I was able to do for the HIIT routine that I tackled on Thursday.
Read MoreI was able to sleep in an extra 40 minutes this morning before Sasha and Darren woke me up. According to the UP app, that usually translates into an additional 750 steps for the day. An interesting stat that I wasn’t aware of and who knows how accurate it is.
Read MoreI had planned on sleeping in for 45 minutes later than usual this morning but Sasha ensured that I woke up only 4 minutes later than my alarm. I did a bit of early morning work since I was dressed before Laura. Once she was ready we drove up to Marin County for the day.
