Day 436: Burpee Ladders
It was a great feeling to nail my sleep goal for another night last night. That will, unfortunately, come to an end tonight since I have to wake up at 4:45a to bring Adrian to the airport.
I wanted to be back home before Adrian woke up and before Laura left for work so I swapped my Wednesday workout this week to today. Though a quick burpee ladder, it was an effective workout to torch my legs.
Warm Up
- Dynamic stretching
- Cycle - 5 minutes
Main Set
- Burpee ladder 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1
in between sets of burpees:
- 10 bodyweight squats
- 5 18” box jumps
It added up to 55 burpees, 100 squats and 55 box jumps. I barely took breaks between sets, usually only stopping for a few seconds for a sip of water or to readjust. The workout took a total of 34 minutes including the warm-up and cool down.
When Adrian woke up we took a short walk up to the Starbucks to stretch our legs. It adds up to 1.5 miles roundtrip and is a walk that Laura and I will often take on the weekends before we head out for the morning.
In between doing work, we watched a few shows and a movie while just hanging out for the last full day that he’s here.
A few years ago I introduced Adrian to Smashburger and since then that’s always a must-do when he comes out therefore that is what we had for lunch.
As with the rest of the world, we watched the new Star Wars trailer as soon as it went live on YouTube. We were one of the first 6,600 people to watch the YouTube video.
Tonight we’re having Laura’s amazingly delicious macaroni and cheese. It’s a great final meal before he takes off and I snap back to eating healthy tomorrow.
I’m looking forward to heading back to my office tomorrow after working from home for the last three business days. Tomorrow is waiting for me with 7 meetings on the schedule as of now.
