Day 429: An Unexpected Day of No Meetings
It felt like I had slept really well but, though I hit a 5 day streak, I snapped back to getting under 3 hours of deep sleep.
Today was already gearing up to be a light day of meetings however after a couple of meetings were moved I ended up not having a single meeting throughout the day.
That is unheard of for me and it turned out to be good because I had to spend part of the morning working on a high priority last-minute project.
I used the rest of the day to clean up admin work and prepare for tomorrow and Wednesday since I have two non-stop days of back-to-back meetings with only breaks for lunch.
Tonight’s workout proved to be a hard Spartan WOD:
Warm-up
- Dynamic warm up – 3 movements x 2 at 25 yards each
- Cycle - 5 minutes
Main set
- 3 x 15 burpees
- 3 x 15 bodyweight squats
- 3 x 15 jumping lunges
- Walk - 15 minutes at 15% incline
Cool Down
- Stretch
The total workout including warm-up and cool down took me 47 minutes to complete and left me completely exhausted by the end.
It was the first time in over a year that I have done any length of steady time at a 15% incline on the treadmill. I had done a few interval drills but that has been about it.
During the burpees I could feel a twinge of pain in my left shoulder. I’m not sure what it is but after stretching my shoulders out post-workout it started to feel better.
Going into tomorrow I am taking a deep breath in as it will be an extremely busy next few days but I like it that way so I embrace it.
