I slept well again last night even though it was windy and there was a party onshore that was going on until the early morning. We brought the boat back in this morning, did our final checks and started the 1.5 hour trek back to the airport. While we were in the taxi I spent some of the time working through shoulder mobilization.
Read MoreI slept well last night...about as well as you can sleep on a sailboat but it was still decent sleep. My cold has continued to go away so I was able to actually breath through my nose last night. Hurting shoulders, not being able to breath through your nose, a rocking boat and a hard mattress do not make for great sleeping conditions.
Read MoreLast night was another rough one for me as the hacking cough continued. When I woke up my shoulders were very sore. I'm not sure if it's from how much I've been pushing my shoulders, from the mattress or a combination of both.
Read MoreIt was hard to sleep last night between coughing, the boat rocking and the sound of the ropes along the mooring ball. It was windy last night thus causing the additional rocking and rope noise. If you've never been on a boat that is moored or anchored when it is windy it can be an interesting experience of slowly spinning around.
Read MoreI made it to sleep earlier than the night before but it was a hard night of sleeping for me. It started to rain a couple of times throughout the night and I was laying right under our open hatch until we closed it. When I woke up I started feeling increasingly worse throughout the day. I have had a scratchy throat since landing here but today a slight cough has started.
Read MoreThe slight rocking of the boat made for great sleeping conditions last night. But, unfortunately, I woke up several times throughout the night. Though I’m not feeling pain in my shoulders anymore when I roll onto my sides at home, I am waking up anytime it happens on the boat. That coupled with not making it to sleep until around midnight meant only getting 5.5 hours of interrupted sleep.
Read MoreAfter 20 hours of travel with broken sleep I fell asleep on the boat quickly last night even though there was a band playing on shore. I slept hard getting around 7.75 hours of sleep before finally wrestling myself out of bed.
Read MoreLast night was rougher than I anticipated even with my sleep mask and taking a sleeping pill due to turbulence that lasted the majority of the flight. My UP 24 band says that I got around 3.5 hours of sleep but I really think it was more like 2.5 hours. We landed in NYC around 5:30a ET before boarding our flight to St. Lucia for a 8:30a ET flight.
Read MoreIt was an early start to the morning so that I could get to the airport on time. I fell asleep before I could set my UP band but figure that I got around 6 hours of sleep. I hadn’t really thought of it when I traveled to Las Vegas but my checked bag weighed 32.5 pounds. I just grabbed it like normal when it was time to leave on Monday. When walking through the hotel today I could feel a slight tweak in my left shoulder. But, a few minutes after checking my bag at the airport the feeling had gone away.
Read MoreIt was hard to wrestle myself out of bed this morning after not falling asleep until nearly 1:00a but I managed to do it by around 7:30a. I thought it was going to be a relatively slow day but that changed quickly and my day ended up being consumed with meetings.
Read MoreToday was another early start to the day but I was still able to get around 6.5 hours of sleep. Not quite what my goal is but given that I’m in Las Vegas, I’ll take it. The conference proved to be another long day of running around with the daily grind plus additional last-minute requests. It is what I thrive on but still can take a lot of me by the end of the day and week.
Read MoreWhile I knew that I wouldn’t hit my goal of 7 hours of sleep per night being in Vegas due to the demands of the week, I was happy to get just shy of 6.5 hours last night. Waking up in a hotel room is always hard for me. When I’m at home I usually bounce out of bed without much issue but when I sleep in a hotel room I have to force myself awake. Maybe it is the black-out curtains or complete silence…who knows.
Read MoreI nearly missed not hitting my goal last night since I slept for exactly 7 hours since this morning was an early start to make it to the airport. It was hard to leave home this morning. I haven’t traveled for work in over 6 months so it wasn’t as easy as when I would travel 100k+ miles per year.
Read MoreLast night I was more tired than usual after my run, hauling the wood and having an early dinner so we crashed early allowing me to get 9+ hours of sleep. When I woke up my left calf was very sore so I wasn’t able to go for a run. With our community’s gym closed I didn’t have the ability to get in another type of workout.
Read MoreI slept well last night though not as long as I had other nights this week but still thankful for getting 7 hours of sleep. I did wake up for a bit around 1:15a but was able to fall back asleep. After waking up I went for a run along the water for what will likely be my last sunrise run, unless I decide to go tomorrow morning before Laura wakes up.
