Day 158: Going Around a Race Track at 165 MPH

Today was another early start to the day but I was still able to get around 6.5 hours of sleep. Not quite what my goal is but given that I’m in Las Vegas, I’ll take it.

The conference proved to be another long day of running around with the daily grind plus additional last-minute requests. It is what I thrive on but still can take a lot of me by the end of the day and week.

Though my diet wasn’t as good as I would like, it was the third day of getting more than 11,000 steps.

Tonight was our Parter’s Appreciation Party which we held at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

We rented out the entire speedway. We had a live band, stock car rides at up to 165 mph, rides in a drift car, go-karts and lots of other fun stuff. And I took full advantage of it all.

A few people were concerned with me going for a stock car ride and in the drift car but I was able to do both without any issues.

In the minutes leading up to the stock car ride I even had my reservations but I ended up loving it.

The only thing that I had a hard time with was putting on and taking off the fire retardant suit they make you put on before getting into the stock car.

One of the partners who I had been waiting in line with kindly helped me getting the suit on and one of the staff members helped to pull it off of my shoulders.

It was also difficult to climb in and out of the car through the window but I was able to manage that without help.

It was all a lot of fun and I always enjoy our closing night party.

The only downside is that we didn’t get back to the hotel until around midnight so I am typing this update rather quickly so that I can get to sleep.

Luckily I can sleep in a bit tomorrow even though I should use the additional time to get in a workout.

Tomorrow should be a bit slower since the conference now transitions into being solely focused on the sales team.
