Day 157: Not Being Able to Wear a Suit Jacket
While I knew that I wouldn’t hit my goal of 7 hours of sleep per night being in Vegas due to the demands of the week, I was happy to get just shy of 6.5 hours last night.
Waking up in a hotel room is always hard for me. When I’m at home I usually bounce out of bed without much issue but when I sleep in a hotel room I have to force myself awake. Maybe it is the black-out curtains or complete silence…who knows.
When I woke up I had an email from the colleague and friend who wanted me to text her before I fell asleep and when I woke up in the morning.
I didn’t text her last night so the email was relaying that she was serious about it when she had mentioned it to me on Friday. I will ensure that I text her tonight.
It makes me feel good to know the level of concern everyone continues to express whether it is online or in-person.
As I was getting dressed this morning I wasn't able to easily put on the suit jacket I planned on wearing. It was too hard to get it on the same way that I have been putting on my shirts, zip-ups and other jackets so I went without one today.
Today started with the keynote where our President & CEO lays out our vision and conducts several demos along with our executives, other team members and invited guests.
We made several announcements during the keynote that my team assisted our PR and product teams with, primarily with the timing of publishing blog posts and things of that nature.
The rest of the day was busy and stretched late into the evening as we worked through reporting, uploading event photos and tackling other work.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get in a workout the past 2 days and my diet hasn’t been good but I have walked between 11,500-12,000 steps per day so that has helped.
I’m now crawled under the covers with my feet throbbing from running around in dress shoes all day. Oh the fun of conferences!
