Day 498: A Sleepy Sunday

Today was the first Sunday in a long time that I didn’t go to the gym as soon as I woke up since it was my off day from the kettlebell challenge. After taking Sasha outside, I grabbed my foam roller and other mobility gear for some painful rolling to break up the soreness in my back, shoulders and neck. My hamstrings weren’t sore from the kettlebell swings, though I still spent time focused on them as well.

Day 493: Hitting a New 2,000 Meter Row PR

It was the third night in a row of both hitting my sleep goal and not waking up during the night. It was a good way to start off the day. Though my lower back was still sore, I was surprised that my legs weren’t as sore as they were the previous week from my legs workout. Last week I was still trying to walk regularly until Wednesday or Thursday because of how sore I was.

Day 491: A Cold, Wet and Windy Sunday

It was nice hitting my sleep goal last night including getting four hours of deep sleep. Now, hopefully, I can string a few good nights together so that I can get back on track. My upper back was sore from Friday’s workout and my lower back was already sore from yesterday’s alternating 1-arm sumo deadlifts. Surprisingly, my legs were tired but not sore (yet) from yesterday’s legs session.

Day 486: Celebrating My Birthday

Before falling asleep last night Laura gave me my birthday presents since it was already past midnight on the East coast. It was very sweet of her to get me the new Apple TV, Call of Duty Black Ops III and a new Burberry button-down. She’s always so great at picking out both things that I have said that I want and also other gifts that I wouldn’t have thought of to mention.
