Day 180: Six Months Since My First Seizures

It is hard to believe that 6 months ago today we were at the hospital after I had a grand mal seizure that caused Laura to scream so loudly that 3 of our neighbors came rushing upstairs. All I remember is waking up dazed in the back of an ambulance with a paramedic speaking loudly at me and seeing Laura crying and scared. I then had another seizure once I got to the hospital.

Day 178: My First Lifting Session in a Few Weeks

Last night I missed my goal of 7 hours of sleep again only getting 6.5 hours. However, the biggest difference between the past 2 nights was last night I got under 3 hours of deep sleep. One big reason for this was that usually Darren sleeps with Laura but last night he shifted near me moving from between my legs to behind my legs to my feet to demanding to being petted. We think he was doing it to feel safe in our new home but it didn’t make for a consistent night of sleep for me.

Day 176: The Patriots Win the Super Bowl!

Last night was our first night sleeping in our new apartment. Day 175: Moving Down to San Jose

This morning started earlier than usual for a Saturday since we had several things to finish before the movers arrived at 8:30a. As I did yesterday I pushed my shoulders harder than Laura or her mom felt comfortable with. Honestly, the past 2 days I have gone far outside of what my orthopedic surgeon would be happy with but it needed to be done so I had to deal with the discomfort and soreness.

Day 169: Flying Back Home

Since we didn’t fall asleep until around 2:15a and had to get up at 6:30a I was only able to sleep for 4.25 hours. After getting ready we said our goodbyes and headed off to JFK for our flight back to SFO. Though the flight to JFK from UVF didn’t seem so long, the flight to SFO felt like it lasted forever. I’m guessing that is due to how tired I am getting around 50% of the sleep I’m used to.
