After getting the house ready just in case there was a power outage overnight, we headed to bed a bit earlier than usual anticipating being woken up once the rain started. As we thought, right around 2:00a the rain started and we both woke up. It was hard to get quality sleep from that point forward. Around 5:30a I woke up and considered staying up for the day but was able to fall back asleep for another 20-30 minutes or so.
Read MoreAnother night of forgetting to set my UP24 band when I fell asleep but I know that I got around 8 hours of sleep last night without waking up throughout the night. I have been impressed with the length and consistency of sleep I have been able to get as a result of my recovery.
Read MoreWhile I hit a new 5-day streak getting 8 hours of sleep, I slept for under 3 hours of deep sleep. I have been focusing on getting more and better quality sleep since it is critical for healing. Even getting the additional hour from a typical of 6 hours to 7 hours of sleep is a big increase and helps.
Read MoreI crashed fast last night, before I could even take my pre-bed vitamins or take Sasha out for a walk. Apparently I was more tired than I realized. I ended up getting around 7.5 hours last night even though I woke up twice throughout the night.
Read MoreIt has been 4 months to the day since a seizure would change so much in our lives. Since that night I have felt the worse pain of my life. I have also felt the compassion of friends, family, colleagues and people whom I have never met. I have had a chance to reassess my priorities and, where necessary, make adjustments. And, through the continuous telling of my story, have had a chance to inspire others to make changes in their lives that will help them to be healthier and happier.
Read MoreEven though I woke up 4 times throughout the night I was still able to get 7+ hours of sleep with 4.5 hours of deep sleep. Usually I wake up at 6:00-6:30a on the weekends but today I didn’t wake up until 7:00a which was nice. Since it had stopped raining by the time I had woken up, I decided to head out to run hills.
Read MoreAfter publishing yesterday’s update I decided to nuke my phone in an attempt to fix a battery issue. For the last several weeks my phone has increasingly been unable to hold battery life. At one point it was so bad that my phone died from a full charge in 4.5 hours. Thankfully a hard reset seems to have fixed it.
Read MoreI haven’t had as much difficulty sleeping as I did last night in a long while. It took me nearly 2 hours to fall asleep once I laid down including getting up twice. I then woke up another 2 more times throughout the night before my alarm went off at 5:00a since we had to go down to Santa Clara/San Jose today. I woke up a bit sore from my workout yesterday which felt good but fortunately my shoulders felt great. As I have continued to increase my workouts I like that my body is responding well.
Read MoreThe rain was heavier and the wind stronger last night than the previous night so it made it hard to sleep. I have never been through a strong hurricane before but can imagine that it sounds something like what we heard last night. Even with the rain and wind I was able to get just under 8 hours of sleep but only 3 hours of deep sleep along with being awake for about 35 minutes in the middle of the night due to the weather.
Read MoreAfter landing on-time at SFO we were able to get back home within an hour, arriving home around 9:00p. That gave me enough time to get tackled by Sasha, take her for a walk and then crash after a long travel day. It was nice to start taking my pre-bed supplements again last night since I hadn’t brought all of my vitamins to CT with me.
Read MoreFor my final night in CT I was able to finish out the 1.5 weeks with another 7.5 hours of sleep even though it was among the worse I’ve had for deep sleep coming in at under 3 hours. Since we had finished most of our packing yesterday, this morning we were able to focus on hanging out before we had to leave for the airport around 10:00a.
Read MoreAnother night of getting 7+ hours of sleep with a total of 7.5 hours last night. The lower back pain that I have been experiencing wasn’t as bad this morning but was still present when I woke up. Right as everyone was leaving or getting ready to head to sleep last night my father-in-law had to head to the hospital for a trauma case. He didn’t get home from the hospital until 4:30a so as people started waking up we kept it quiet around the house.
Read MoreI hit my first 7-day streak of getting 7+ hours of sleep or more though I did wake up with lower back pain, likely from the bed. I will be interested to see if my lower back pain corrects itself after a couple of days being back home. There was some scheduling craziness this morning so going to the gym was out of the cards for the day. Instead I did my resistance band workout in the TV room followed by stretching out my shoulders using both the Theraband and the doorways.
Read MoreI was happy to get another 7.5 hours of sleep last night and even more pleased to not have woken up with lower back pain today. The day started off slower than usual after spending the last several days prepping and cooking Thanksgiving dinner. It was nice to just sit around the kitchen table, relaxing for a bit.
Read MoreWith another 8.5 hours of sleep last night I hit a 5-day streak for getting 7 or more hours per night. I can’t remember the last time I got this much sleep on a consistent basis. The only problem I’m having is with my lower back hurting when I wake up in the morning. I assume it is due to the bed that I’m sleeping in even though I’ve never had any problems before.
