It was another great night of sleep without waking up at all throughout the night until Sasha and Darren started rattling around at 6:15a. Though I’m not a fan of waking up so early on the weekends, not only have I become used to it, but it also allows me to get to the gym early.
Read MoreAfter having so many issues with sleeping during the week, last night I fell asleep quickly, didn’t wake up once and slept for over 8 hours - big green check marks for all three. My first “meeting” of the day was spending an hour catching up with C.C. Chapman. He is a dear friend of mine and it’s always nice to take time to chat with him.
Read MoreEvery night since Sunday I have gotten less and less sleep each night. Last night I barely got six hours of sleep and just over two hours of deep sleep. Fortunately tonight is my last night of chemo for this round so that my sleep can get back into a normal routine.
Read MoreI’ll be happy when I can get back to sleeping through the night but while I’m on chemo I usually end up waking up several times. Two nights ago I woke up four times. Last night it was three times. Other than that, though, I felt good when I woke up. I didn’t feel as fatigued as I did earlier this week and had no dizziness or other effects.
Read MoreWhereas yesterday I slept well and had a non-stop ravenous hunger, last night I woke up 4 times during the night and had little to no hunger for the majority of the day. This seems to be the major difference between Day 1 and Day 2 during each round of chemo.
Read MoreAfter missing my sleep goal last Wednesday, I have been able to hit a minimum of 7 hours of sleep for the past 5 days. Though I slept lightly last night, I was happy to have hit my sleep goal since it was my first night of chemo.
Read MoreSasha and Darren didn’t get the memo about turning the clocks back an hour so I was up at 5:50a this morning. After taking care of them, I headed to the gym. I figured if I was up early, I mind as well make it productive.
Read MoreWhen Sasha and Darren started waking me up this morning I assumed that it was between 6:30-7:00a but it was only 5:50a. I tried going back to sleep but they kept at it until I got out of bed around 6:05a. The second I heard our door close behind us I immediately realized that I had left my keys inside. For nearly 30 minutes I tried knocking on our door, ringing the door bell and calling Laura’s cell.
Read MoreUsually on Fridays I don’t go into my office so I am able to sleep without an alarm but today I went in to grab lunch with one of our Summer interns who was back in town for the weekend. It was very quiet in the office with only a few of us in on the entire floor. It was a great opportunity to use the quietness to focus on closing out the week on a strong note.
Read MoreWhen I went to get out of bed this morning I immediately felt the 95 flights of stairs from yesterday and my calves workout from Tuesday. It took longer than usual to get my blood work done this morning but I was still able to get it taken care of. I will hear back tomorrow if I have the green light to start my next round on Sunday.
Read MoreThough my UP band read differently, I slept lighter than usual. I shifted, rolled and woke briefly to every small sound. I still felt well rested when I woke up so, luckily, it didn’t affect how alert I was to start my day. I battled deep soreness on the left side of my mid-back all day long. I’m not sure if I slept wrong, if it’s from my workouts over the past couple of days or a combination of both.
Read MoreI woke up 10 minutes before my alarm was set to go off which is always a bit annoying but I just rested until I had to get up. Even though my chest and triceps workout on Sunday was hard, my muscles were only sore if I really pressed on them. However, my obliques became increasingly sore as the day went on.
Read MoreI barely did it but I managed to hit a 5-day streak with just over 7 hours of sleep last night. As I have mentioned before, sleep is extremely important for a variety of reasons and that is why I put such a premium on it.
Read MoreFor the first time in several weeks I was able to sleep throughout the night without waking up a single time. It helped me to get 5 minutes shy of 8 hours of sleep. When I woke up my traps were already very sore from yesterday’s kettle bell swings. Waking up tomorrow will be interesting once delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) has set in.
Read MoreI hit another 3-day streak thanks to logging 7.5 hours of sleep even though I have woken up 3-4 times per night each of the last three nights. I went to the gym up the street from me today for the first time and used a free day pass so that I could get a feel for it.
