Day 453: Fondue and Fatigue

Every night since Sunday I have gotten less and less sleep each night. Last night I barely got six hours of sleep and just over two hours of deep sleep.

Fortunately tonight is my last night of chemo for this round so that my sleep can get back into a normal routine.

Though I was tired when I woke up, I wasn’t feeling fatigued. However, that changed by the end of the day when I had a strong wave of fatigue hit while I was driving home from work.

Today was filled with meetings, grocery shopping and having a cheese and chocolate fondue party with our team. It was a fun idea that we had come up with a few weeks ago and turned out to be just as fun and tasty as we had hoped.

Since tonight was my off day from working out, I came home and rested on the couch for a while before Laura got out of work.

We went out for dinner at a fantastic local restaurant tonight that we enjoy going to. It’s always nice to take a break from the craziness to just spend time together.

On our way home from dinner I felt a headache setting in and once we came home the fatigue continued.

While I wait to take my medications and chemo I’m just laying on the couch and giving my body a chance to rest.

Fatigue usually doesn’t set in until the 5th day, which would be tomorrow but, for some reason, it has decided to arrive today.

As usual, I’m giving my body the time it needs to rest and then will push through on the other side of it tomorrow by getting back into the gym. It should go away by tomorrow and we’ll be through this round of chemo.
