Day 63: Continuing to Gain Weight

Though I slept less last night, I didn’t wake up to use the restroom until 5:30a. When I finally woke up around 6:30a my UP24 said that I had gotten nearly 6 hours of deep sleep and under an hour of light sleep. I usually get a balance of deep and light sleep so last night was great.

I gained 4 lbs since last Saturday when I last weighed myself. My body fat % has pretty much held consistent so the gain has been lean weight.

After so many weeks of losing weight, it is nice to have put on 6 lbs over the last 2 weeks with the majority of it during the last week.

Since today was my cheat day we went to one of our favorite Italian cafes for breakfast. I love a simple chocolate croissant. It was delicious to have one along with a cinnamon twist and an eggs and bacon panini.

Once we got back home we decided to relax for the day watching back-to-back episodes of Parks & Recreation. While watching TV we snacked on bread, chips and chocolate and peanut butter bars. Like I said, it was a cheat day.

I rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes, keeping the resistance and distance the same as on Thursday. Following my workout I came home to complete my shoulder exercises including using the shoulder pulley and walking my fingers up a wall.

We were able to catch sightings of the Blue Angels performing during Fleet Week from our front deck. Though we only saw them a couple times, we could hear them for their entire performance.

Before dinner I spent time reading more of Shrinkage. It has been eery reading about when they found out that he had a brain tumor. Though the tumor was in a different place, the questions, feelings, research and more were all things that we went through over those first few days too.

We went out for Indian tonight which is one of our favorite cuisines. We realized that it had been well over a year since we last had been to that restaurant. It was very spicy, exactly what we were going for.

After dinner we stopped for frozen yogurt which was delicious. Since it was a cheat day, though I had low fat frozen yogurt, I absolutely had crushed peanut butter cups on top.

It was our third Saturday in a row getting a chance to go out on a date. The last two Saturdays have been the best since I don’t have to wear slings or have my head wrapped any longer. It makes going out to dinner feel more normal.

By the time we got home we were able to watch the San Francisco Giants close out Game 1 of the NLCS. It was a great way to bring a fun Saturday to a close.
