Day 404: The End of the Craziness

It was really hard to wake up this morning after such a long week but I was able to pull myself out of bed and head into the office for 7:00a.

Whereas yesterday was a day full of presentations, today was focused on our executives spending one-on-one time with several analysts over a couple of hours. The rest of our staff served as scribes at each table taking notes on the conversations so that they can be collected and digested by our team.

Following the one-on-one meetings we had a closing session from our CEO and then lunch before the analysts left.

By the time lunch rolled around several of us were in the war room nearly delirious with exhaustion.

After having lunch and catching up with a few people I left work so that I could stop by Laura’s office and go to Starbucks with her.

It has been a very busy week and I haven’t been able to spend as much time with her as I would have liked so taking 15-20 minutes in the late afternoon was really nice.

I came home and crashed on my couch, nearly falling asleep while watching Apple’s keynote from last week. With my travels last week and everything going on at work this week, I hadn’t had a chance to watch it yet.

Though I know the news from the keynote, I’m weird in that I always enjoy sitting down to watch the Apple keynotes even though I am no longer an iPhone or iPad user.

I chose not to workout today to avoid delayed onset muscle soreness which would have set it in on Saturday.

Tomorrow I will go run a slow paced 5k on the treadmill followed by a long stretching/mobility session to loosen up my muscles, as I did before my Spartan race.

When Laura came home we went out for our weekly date night. After the insanity of the week, it was nice to get back to “normal” by going out to dinner with Laura.

Tomorrow, fortunately, I only have a couple of meetings and a few key things that I need to focus my attention on.
