Day 290: Being Thankful for the Support
When I woke up today my legs weren’t sore from all of the walking we did yesterday...until I tried walking back upstairs with Sasha.
Since today was my only day in the office, all of my meetings were compressed into today. I only ended up having around an hour to get anything done.
When I came home I went next door to the gym for a short but intense WOD:
Warm Up
20 Star Jumps
Main Set
- 2 minutes of burpees
- 800-meter run above lactic threshold
- Recover 1-2 minutes
- 2 minutes of jumping rope
- 800-meter run above lactic threshold
- Recover 1-2 minutes.
The entire workout, including warm-up and cool-down, only took a total of 30 minutes but by the end of it I was barely functional.
I was able to complete 25 burpees in the 2 minutes which was the most burpees I have ever accomplished in 2 minutes. I usually average 10 burpees per minute. So, that means that my burpee endurance is improving which makes me happy.
After finishing my workout I came back home to pack for my trip tomorrow to Fargo, ND. Fortunately it only took me a few minutes to pack since it is a quick 2 night trip.
With a 3:45a alarm for a 6:15a flight, my night is coming to an end very quickly.
I likely won’t be able to accomplish tomorrow’s WOD but will try to tackle it Thursday if I’m not able to fit it in due to traveling.
The next few days will be great to see friends, some of whom I haven’t seen in 2 years since the last time I was in Fargo for Misfit Con. Other friends who will be there I was able to see a couple of months ago when we were in Santa Ynez valley.
Either way, so many people have been supportive of us over the last 9 months that it is hard to say thank you enough, even when I see friends in-person.
