Day 289: Happy Memorial Day!

It was great to sleep in without an alarm again this morning since the office was closed today in observance of Memorial Day. With 8 hours of sleep I was able to hit another 10-day streak.

It’s great to get back to my normal sleep schedule since it got so screwed up with Synergy. It will take a hit on Wednesday morning when I have to get up at 3:30a for a 6:15a flight to Fargo for Misfit Con.

While Laura slept in I snuck over to the gym for today’s “21 Gun Salute” WOD:

Warm Up

Jump Rope – 2 minutes

Main Set

21 minute AMRAP (As many rounds as possible)

  • 400 meter run
  • 21 pushups
  • 21 box jumps
  • 15 burpees
  • 9 pull-ups

I was able to get through 2 full rounds and an additional 400 meter run, though I had to scale the pull-ups to only 4 pull-ups and using a band each round.

My left shoulder is still sore from last week’s workouts even though I have been stretching out both shoulders every day.

The weather was gorgeous around here but the forecast called for cloudy weather in Half Moon Bay so we decided against going to Half Moon Bay and instead went to Los Gatos to walk around.

After we had lunch we walked one part of the Los Gatos Creek trail which was a more traditional trail. That 1.6 miles took us 28 minutes to accomplish after which we decided to enjoy some ice cream.

We walked around town for a little while before deciding to walk another section of the trail. That section was a paved area that brought us to a cute county park. By the time we got back we tackled another 3.3 miles that took us just under an hour.

As the holiday comes to a close I will have crossed the 21k steps mark thanks to the AMRAP runs, the two trail walks and walking around town.
