Day 280: Sleeping In After a Long Week
It felt amazing to sleep in my own bed last night. I crashed hard and didn’t wake up until 7:15a, getting almost 8 hours of sleep.
That doesn’t sound late but when you consider that my body is still on ET, 7:15a felt really late.
I bounced out of bed and headed next door to the gym. My workout today was what Saturdays typically are - the below warm-up followed by 60 minutes on the elliptical.
Warm-up
- Jump Rope – 3 minutes
- 10 – Glute Kickbacks
- 10 – Jumping Lunges
- 10 – Star Jumps
It felt great to get in back-to-back days at the gym after not being able to workout all week.
My shoulders have been tight the past two days as I worked them through their internal and external rotation exercises. Just taking 6 days off was enough to cause them to tighten up.
While waiting for Laura to wake up I was able to do a brain dump all of the tasks that I need to get done.
I ran through a number of personal to-dos that had been building up throughout the week.
Laura and I went to see Pitch Perfect 2. It was a fun, light-hearted movie which was exactly what we both wanted.
We came home to relax for the evening and catch up on our favorite TV shows that we weren’t able to watch during the week while I was gone.
I’m still exhausted from the week so am looking forward to crashing in a little while. Tomorrow is a rest day from the gym so am planning on spending some time in the morning focused on mobilizations.
