Day 109: Thanksgiving Prep Continues
While not as much sleep as previous nights, I still managed to get 7+ hours of sleep last night. Though I didn’t wake up to use the bathroom, I did wake up a couple of times throughout the night.
When I woke up this morning I had some soreness in my elbows, having trouble fully extending them to end range. I fought through the feeling to get both elbows fully extended. Once I did that they were fine for the rest of the day.
By mid-morning the snowstorm started. We had to run out in the storm for about an hour to pick up the turkeys for tomorrow but other than that, we were able to stay inside and enjoy watching the snow fall for the majority of the day.
The Thanksgiving prep continued today with me pulling 8 loaves of bread and chopping 7-8 onions for the stuffing tomorrow.
While I worked on the bread and onions, Laura and her mom baked a pumpkin pie, apple caramel and oats bars and made the dough for apple pie.
We also made a homemade BBQ sauce and started slow cooking pork butt to make pulled pork sandwiches for dinner.
I took today off from working out to give my body a day to rest. If I can get in another 2-3 workouts before heading back to CA then I’ll be happy.
I took some time to work on an updated version of my ideal week since it has been something I have wanted to tackle for a few weeks.
Knowing what an ideal week looks like for me is important in time blocking my calendar. Even though most weeks don’t fit into my ideal week it does help me to gauge how my weeks are trending.
As we approach Thanksgiving tomorrow, we have so much and so many people to be thankful for. This year took an unexpected turn - one that we could have never imagined.
We are blessed to be in Connecticut with family and are thankful to every single person who has come along on this journey with us.
The journey is far from over, as demonstrated by the seizure last Tuesday, follow up appointments and decisions that are in front of us. But, knowing that there are so many people supporting us is very powerful and we appreciate it.
I also feel thankful that what we have gone through has inspired so many to make changes in their lives.
On a daily basis I hear from people who have made impactful changes to live a happier and healthier life.
So, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving to those in the U.S. who are celebrating tomorrow.
