We went to sleep later than usual as we took time to enjoy our final night sitting in front of my in-laws’ Christmas tree. Couple that with waking up earlier than we usually do so that we could say bye to Laura’s dad before he went to work meant not getting as much rest as I had planned.
Read MoreEven though our windows are closed at home thus blocking out most of the street noise, there is something about sleeping at my in-laws’ house that is so peaceful. There are no sounds outside and the house is quiet, with the exception of when my niece wakes up during the night.
Read MoreBefore falling asleep, Laura’s parents gave us more Christmas gifts, besides the ones that they had shipped to us. They were great gifts and completely unexpected including an original Nutcracker that she bought for us while she was in Germany. After having an airplane seat as my bed on New Year’s Eve, it felt good to sleep in an actual bed last night.

Read MoreAs soon as I woke up this morning I jumped onto my laptop to tackle some final admin work before heading to the gym. Today’s challenge was to complete 500 push-ups in addition to the 500 kettlebell swings. Well, I wasn’t able to accomplish that many but I was able to complete 250 push-ups along with 500 swings.

Read MoreAfter five days of not having to set an alarm, it was rough waking up at 5:45a this morning but I was happy that I still managed eight hours of sleep. Figuring that traffic would be even slower this week, with so many taking the week between Christmas and New Year’s off, I took the highway to work. Read MoreAfter it alluding me for weeks I finally hit a 7-day streak of getting a minimum of 7 hours of sleep per night. Even though I was feeling meh when I woke up, and throughout the majority of the day, I headed to the gym for my second 500 kettlebell swing workout of the back-to-back workouts.
