Day 197: The Rebuilding Continues

Even though Sasha and Darren woke me up again this morning at 6:45a, I was still able to get nearly 8 hours of sleep last night. Before starting my workout I decided to try doing a dead hang pull-up again. Today I was able to get about 50% of the way up before my back and shoulders gave out. It’s hard and frustrating considering that I used to be able to do 4 sets of 8-10 pull-ups at a time but every day I’m getting closer to performing a full pull-up again.

Day 194: Finally Feeling Better

When I woke up this morning I was feeling the best I have felt this entire week. I had a terrible headache but didn’t have much of a cough and could actually breathe through my nose. I’m excited to be feeling better so that I can get back to full speed at work, in the gym and at home. It’s amazing how quickly a head cold can knock you off of your game.

Day 193: Getting Insurance Coverage Approved for Chemo

As I laid down to fall asleep last night I decided that I wouldn’t go to the gym this morning and wouldn’t go into the office so, therefore, I didn’t set an alarm. I wanted to give my body as much time to rest as I could. I woke up around 7:00a instead of the normal 5:00a that my alarm typically goes off. Though I fell asleep a bit later than usual, it still gave me extra time to rest.

Day 189: Another Pyramid Legs Workout and Celebrating Valentine's Day

Back-to-back nights of getting nearly 8 hours of sleep had me feeling great this morning when I woke up. While I was getting ready for the gym this morning I put my compression shirt on without even realizing that I was doing it the “normal” way that I used to before my seizures. I still put on my workout shirt the adjusted way that I’ve been using but it was still a small win to have done that.

Day 186: My First Speaking Engagement Since My Seizures

Since the dinner that I attended last night didn’t end until late and my room was unusually warm even though I had the AC on, I didn’t get a great night of sleep. When I woke up I I decided to use the ARIA gym to help shake off the lack of sleep. While I would have preferred to go for a run along the Las Vegas Strip, I only had a short period of time to sneak in a cardio session.

Day 185: The Mile Suitcase Carry

Though I managed to sleep for around 6.75 hours, it was a rough night of sleep. As I was falling asleep I started playing back my seizures in my head but this time it was as if I was able to watch us go through everything. I could see Laura look over at me and start screaming. I could see myself foaming at the mouth and my eyes rolled back. I could see….and then I fell asleep.

Day 184: Back to Waking Up Early to Workout

Staying up late to watch the Grammys coupled with my first morning waking up early again to workout meant that I didn’t get as much sleep as I would like. While I didn’t wake up at 4:45a like I used to before my seizures, I did wake up at 5:15a. I wasn’t sure that I would get back to working out in the early morning but over the past few months I haven’t been able to consistently workout at night.
