When the alarm went off this morning it was one of those nice mornings where it felt good to get out of bed knowing that you had slept well overnight. I didn’t go to the gym since my lower body was still sore from my cardio session on Saturday.
Read MoreEven though Sasha and Darren woke me up again this morning at 6:45a, I was still able to get nearly 8 hours of sleep last night. Before starting my workout I decided to try doing a dead hang pull-up again. Today I was able to get about 50% of the way up before my back and shoulders gave out. It’s hard and frustrating considering that I used to be able to do 4 sets of 8-10 pull-ups at a time but every day I’m getting closer to performing a full pull-up again.
Read MoreIt was nice to wake up without an alarm this morning though I still woke up by 6:45a thanks to Sasha and Darren. When I got over to the gym I tried to do a dead hang pull-up but was only able to get approximately 25% of the way up. After trying the pull up I continued to work on stretching my shoulders with the goal of accomplishing a full pull up soon.
Read MoreSince I was planning on working from home today I was able to sleep in for an extra hour before getting up to go for a workout. I decided to complete the same back and shoulders workout that I performed last week so that I could see how my body has improved, even with being sick this past week.
Read MoreWhen I woke up this morning I was feeling the best I have felt this entire week. I had a terrible headache but didn’t have much of a cough and could actually breathe through my nose. I’m excited to be feeling better so that I can get back to full speed at work, in the gym and at home. It’s amazing how quickly a head cold can knock you off of your game.
Read MoreAs I laid down to fall asleep last night I decided that I wouldn’t go to the gym this morning and wouldn’t go into the office so, therefore, I didn’t set an alarm. I wanted to give my body as much time to rest as I could. I woke up around 7:00a instead of the normal 5:00a that my alarm typically goes off. Though I fell asleep a bit later than usual, it still gave me extra time to rest.
Read MoreLast night was a rough one since I woke up every time I had to cough or turn over or blow my nose. Though I slept for more than 7 hours, my UP24 band said that I only got around 2 hours of deep sleep. I had originally planned on going to the gym this morning but when my alarm went off and I stood up I felt a bit dizzy so I decided to rest for another hour.
Read MoreSince my cough wouldn’t relent yesterday we ended up picking up cough syrup for me to take. It was the first time in years that I have given in since I despise cough syrup. That coupled with turning our bedroom fan on high, helping to provide white noise, allowed me to double the amount of deep sleep I was able to get.
Read MoreThough I slept for 8 hours last night, I only got approximately 2.5 hours of deep sleep. It was one of those nights where I woke up to every little sound. A passing ambulance. A car door. The cat jumping on the bed. Sasha moving around. Everything seemed to wake me up.
Read MoreBack-to-back nights of getting nearly 8 hours of sleep had me feeling great this morning when I woke up. While I was getting ready for the gym this morning I put my compression shirt on without even realizing that I was doing it the “normal” way that I used to before my seizures. I still put on my workout shirt the adjusted way that I’ve been using but it was still a small win to have done that.
Read MoreEven with setting my alarm for an hour later than usual I still turned it off so that I could sleep for another 30 minutes before crawling out of bed. After a long week it was nice to get a full 8 hours of sleep last night. When I woke up I felt completely refreshed which was really nice.
Read MoreOf course, this morning when my alarm went off I promptly turned it off and fell back asleep so that by the time I woke up I only had roughly 15-20 minutes to get down the taxi. Thankfully I had packed everything last night so I didn’t have to deal with that.
Read MoreSince the dinner that I attended last night didn’t end until late and my room was unusually warm even though I had the AC on, I didn’t get a great night of sleep. When I woke up I I decided to use the ARIA gym to help shake off the lack of sleep. While I would have preferred to go for a run along the Las Vegas Strip, I only had a short period of time to sneak in a cardio session.
Read MoreThough I managed to sleep for around 6.75 hours, it was a rough night of sleep. As I was falling asleep I started playing back my seizures in my head but this time it was as if I was able to watch us go through everything. I could see Laura look over at me and start screaming. I could see myself foaming at the mouth and my eyes rolled back. I could see….and then I fell asleep.
Read MoreStaying up late to watch the Grammys coupled with my first morning waking up early again to workout meant that I didn’t get as much sleep as I would like. While I didn’t wake up at 4:45a like I used to before my seizures, I did wake up at 5:15a. I wasn’t sure that I would get back to working out in the early morning but over the past few months I haven’t been able to consistently workout at night.
