Pushed through a second walk yesterday bringing my total to 3,130 steps including the 10 flights of stairs. I also ate dinner out of bed for the second night in a row, choosing the living room last night.
Read MoreLast night was an odd night of sleeping - one of those where you swear you've been up the entire time even though you really have been passed out. Throughout the night I had a few muscle spasms that sent pain through my shoulders.

Read MoreBack at the hospital for my daily IV antibiotics treatment which takes an hour. After this, it's home for a short walk then back to bed to rest.
Read MoreSlept well last night, beyond being awoken by the earthquake. That wreaked havoc on my shoulders but after a couple doses of meds they are doing better. I also slept the latest that I have in a really long time which felt good.

Read MoreToday has been a success so far. After coming home from getting IV antibiotics at the hospital, I was pretty exhausted and, at first, decided against going for a walk with Sasha. However, I decided to push through and walk with Sasha.
Read MoreSlept better last night being back in my own bed, with the other interruptions being to take my meds every three hours. Sadly Sasha has sat at the door whimpering since I got home. The few tries to bring her into the bedroom were unsuccessful. I feel bad because she doesn't understand.
Read MoreIt took a lot longer than expected to check out of the hospital but we are back home now. I'm settled in bed and we have the polar ice packs hooked back up to my shoulders.
Read MoreGoing through all of the final checks with the doctors since we're going HOME today!!! After 12 days in the hospital it will be awesome to see Sasha and Darren, sleep in my own bed, be able to binge watch Netflix and start taking my vitamins again.
Read MoreWe're continuing to work on pain control today in anticipation of heading home tomorrow or Saturday. I'm going to increase my physical activity by about 30% today over the previous couple of days. My goal is to increase every day. Every day won't be 30% but I will do more than the previous day.
Read MoreTalked with the ortho surgeon last night and I'll never be able to lift heavy weights again. Once I recover in a few months I will turn to other types of fitness and supplementation, likely including yoga and resistance band training.
Read MoreToday has been a busy day so far. It started with going back down to the OR so that the anesthesiologist could reset the nerve block in my neck from yesterday's surgery. I then had an echo cardio gram to map my heart in prep for the brain surgery.

Read MoreSurgery on my left shoulder has been confirmed for tomorrow morning. It will be the same complete rebuild that was done on my right shoulder. I just finished meeting with the anesthesiologist to talk through the plan again.
