Not only did we make it to bed on time last night but we also didn’t have to get up until 7:00a since I work from home on Fridays. It was nice to get the extra sleep. When I work from home, I typically get my day started right after taking Sasha out for a walk since I shower later on after my workout. I immediately got into a groove and was able to crank through a lot of work by 9:30a when I took a break to have another meal.
Read MoreI used the “Sleep Better” app again last night to track my sleep. It’s providing me great data but it’s interesting to see how it has reported information differently versus the UP app - particularly the deep versus light sleep and sleep efficiency sections.
Read MoreThanks to a few recommendations, I started to test new sleep apps. Last night I tested “Sleep Better” which seemed to be simple enough to use and had the basic features that I was searching for. I know that no band or app will be able to track sleep exactly and that’s not what I’m looking for. What I care about is having some way of consistently tracking my sleep data. Even if it is partially inaccurate, at least it will be consistent.
Read MoreWhen I crawled into bed last night I realized that I had lost my UP2 fitness band somewhere. Earlier in the day I had reached out to Jawbone Support due to the band splitting. Before they could reply, it disappeared. I know that it happened last night but we can’t find it anywhere in our apartment so I am guessing it was lost while walking Sasha.
Read MoreThough I slept for 7.5 hours last night, I slept very lightly and woke up with a knot in my neck. I think that I slept weird on my pillow causing me to have a bit of a headache when the alarm went off this morning. But, still, my total sleep last night helped me to achieve a 5-day streak, hitting my sleep goal every night since my seizure.
Read MoreWhen I woke up I headed over to our community gym to get in a cardio workout. I tackled another workout from BJ Gaddour and Men’s Health. The video offered a few variations. Instead of doing only one through all 20 rounds, I switched them up to keep my body constantly guessing. By the end of it I was drenched in sweat which felt great.
Read MoreIt was the third night in a row since my seizure that I was able to get greater than 7 hours of sleep. Focusing on my sleep has been something that has been important to me but it’s taken on even greater importance since finding out that the lack of it was likely a contributing factor to my seizure this week.
Read MoreI woke up today feeling completely like myself for the first time in the last couple of days. I was surprised to not be as fatigued as I usually am on my final full day of chemo. After 1.5 days of resting, I decided to get back up to full speed. It felt good to sit at my desk, check in with everyone at work and start getting caught up paperwork and projects.
Read MoreAfter getting a solid 7.5 hours of sleep last night, I woke up to dozens of emails, texts, messages and Facebook comments. It would continue throughout the day as people took a minute out of their day to check on me. It floors me how supportive everyone is and it means so much to both of us.
Read MoreWhen I woke up and started reading the dozens of texts, DMs, messages and emails as well as the 100+ comments on Facebook, I had tears well up in my eyes. It reminded me of when I was initially in the hospital for my shoulder and brain surgeries. The outpouring of support was incredible and touching.
Read MoreAfter 14 months I had my fourth seizure tonight while at a dinner with friends. Just like the previous times, I felt like I was drowning as I tried to look around and yell out to someone until I blacked out.
Read MoreThough I only woke up once, I didn’t get a great night of sleep. It’s hard for me to sleep well when staying in a hotel room ever since we bought our new mattress, even though that was around 6 years ago.
Read MoreIt was nice to get a solid night of sleep last night before heading to Vegas for a few days. I seem to be sleeping better since we started closing our door this week. I’m not sure why since it doesn’t make it darker or quieter.
Read MoreWhen I woke up this morning I could barely feel the lower half of my body after the 200 box jumps last night. Though I spent time rolling out my body last night, my legs, hips and lower back were still tight.
Read MoreKeeping our bedroom door closed last night worked to keep Sasha from chewing on the section of carpet that she was enjoying the previous two nights. After being woken up multiple times overnight this week, I was finally able to sleep a complete night without waking up. That coupled with being able to sleep in since I worked from home helped me to get back on track with achieving my sleep goal.
