After hitting a 5-day sleep streak yesterday, last night I logged my longest night of sleep in several months at just over 8 hours. I woke up a few times throughout the night, which, unfortunately, seems to be becoming a routine. When I opened my laptop I saw several friends talking about the Brands Only Summit being run by SocialMedia.org this week. Before my injuries I was scheduled to speak at the event and was looking forward to seeing several friends who were attending.
Read MoreLast night I hit my first ever 5-day streak for sleep getting 7.5 hours. What was better than the previous night was only waking up once briefly and not having to use the restroom once throughout the night. It's the small victories. While Laura slept I spent time going through older MobilityWOD videos. I didn’t have a particular reason that I went digging beyond being curious.
Read MoreTacked on a 4th night of getting 7-7.5 hours of sleep, though I woke up 4 times throughout the night which was more than I have in the last several nights. It started raining around 1:30a and it was loud enough that once I woke up it was difficult to fall back asleep.
Read MoreThree nights in a row getting north of 7 hours of sleep. That 3-day streak is better than I have achieved even before my injuries. This morning and early afternoon were standard for me, though it turned out busier than originally planned. I had one-on-ones with a couple of my team members and dealt with a couple other issues before it was time for physical therapy.
Read MoreWell, not taking a shower, either hot or cold, does not seem to have an effect on my overall sleep. Last night I slept for the same length of time as the previous night, including deep sleep. Only having one night of data isn’t enough but it was interesting to me when I woke up this morning.
Read MoreLast night was the longest that I have slept (7.4 hours) in as long as I can remember. I typically hover in the 6.5-7.25 hour range when I’m getting a regular night of sleep. Something I think has been helping the last few nights is taking a shower before bed. Pre-injuries I would take a shower when I woke up but not before bed.
Read MoreIt’s been nice to settle into a good night of sleep and normal morning routine again. Though I’m still waking up a couple times per night, I’m getting sound sleep. My morning routine is a bit different than it will be once I ramp back up to full-time.
Read MoreOvernight and this morning were normal for us. Slept well, took Sasha for a walk, made breakfast and got the work day underway. I only had 1.5 hours of meetings today. That doesn’t sound like a lot but when you’re only able to work part-time, that is 38% of my work day. It was nice to get other work accomplished. I’m feeling fully caught up though I am eager to get back up to full time.
Read MoreAs sleep quality has become more normalized, I continue to pull off my sleep mask off and pull the covers over me during the night. Each night I don’t remember doing either of those things until the morning. I’m guessing that I could improve my sleep quality if I stopped doing either overnight.
Read MoreI woke up a couple of times overnight but nothing more than what has become a new normal for me. I was still able to get around 7 hours of sleep so I was satisfied when I woke up. I climbed out of bed at 6:30a as has become the regular time I’ve been waking up. I let Laura sleep in until she finally woke up around 8:30-9:00a.
Read MoreLast night I woke up a few times overnight. When I woke up at 11:45p I was so deep asleep that I thought it was 6:30a until I looked at the clock. One thing I don’t understand is why I woke up during the night feeling that loss of feeling along the outside of my hands again. It is something that I haven’t felt in weeks. While it wasn’t as bad as when I was wearing my slings, it still felt odd.
Read MoreAs sleep quality continues to improve, I was able to sleep until 6:20a before waking up to use the restroom. I know I woke up once or twice to readjust but not with the same issues that I had the previous night. The only downside was intending to only watch a few minutes of the season premier of “Top Chef” and instead not falling asleep until 11:40p thus driving down total sleep.
Read MoreWhile I slept well overnight, getting around 6.5 hours of sleep, I did wake up a couple of times throughout the night. I woke up to use the restroom around 1:00a and then, due to heavy rain starting, was not able to fall back asleep for 45 minutes or so. Once I was able to fall asleep I woke up again after a few minutes for another 20 minutes.
Read MoreI was able to string together 2 consecutive nights of only waking up once the entire night. I even added an additional 45 minutes to my total sleep last night. That helped me to feel rested heading into my first day back at work. I did wake up feeling sore in my upper back, shoulders and left bicep from yesterday’s physical therapy session.
Read MoreHooray! Last night I only woke up once! My sleep quality has continued to improve every night for the last few nights. Now let’s just hope that I can get another good night of sleep before starting back at work tomorrow.
