Day 96: Waking Up in Pain
All at the same time Laura’s alarm went off, Darren started crying loudly and a hard rain storm started. As I woke up my shoulders were in pain. Not just sore but actual pain. Did I mention that this all happened at 4:30a? I finally rolled out of bed by 4:45a or so.
It was the first night in several weeks that I got under 6 hours of sleep at a minimum.
Due to the location of where the pain was it is hard for me to tell if it was soreness from working out or actual shoulder pain.
Fortunately after being up for about 30 minutes the shoulder pain went away.
We left for the drive to Santa Clara/San Jose around 6:15a. It was raining most of the drive which made for an interesting start to the morning.
I dropped Laura off at her office for the first time. As soon as I got to my office I started putting the finishing touches on my presentation for our All-Hands meeting.
Though I was sleep-deprived and tired from driving in the rain, the presentation went well. Thankfully it wasn’t my first time speaking in front of a large audience so hopefully that helped.
I had a number of meetings throughout the day before leaving the office to pick up Laura and attempt to beat rush hour traffic home.
It only took us about 1.5 hours to make it home. After taking Sasha for a quick walk and feeding them dinner, we headed out to a local restaurant.
What was really nice was that the same bartender friend who was working the first night we went out following my surgeries was working tonight. She was really happy to see us and was surprised at how much progress I have made in such a short period of time.
It was nice to enjoy a healthy and relaxing dinner with Laura after a long couple of days including spending 6 hours driving back and forth.
It’s only 8:30p and I can barely keep my head up so I’m taking my pre-bed supplements and going to crash. I’m hoping that I get better sleep tonight and don’t wake up in pain tomorrow.
