Day 385: Using My Ruck Pack on the Elliptical
It was another sweltering day out yesterday so we kept the windows closed and air conditioning on last night.
Though we prefer to sleep with the windows open, I sleep deeper with the windows closed since they’re triple-pane and keep the road noise out.
My typical Saturday workout is a long and slow cardio session that lasts between 1-1.5 hours, though I want to start working up to 2+ hours.
Right before I left I realized that I hadn't used my ruck pack since coming back home so I threw it on.
I ended up using the elliptical for 30 minutes with the ruck pack on and a 20 lb ruck plate inside. By the end of it I was drenched in sweat, more than when I complete a longer cardio session.
After we run hours of errands tomorrow, we’re planning on taking a walk and I am going to bring my ruck pack with me. However, tomorrow I’m going to also add my 3 liter hydration bladder since that’s the complete set up that I’ll need for my GORUCK Light Challenge.
While Laura slept in I powered through my work inbox since it had built up while we were on vacation and I have been trying to get it back to a manageable level all throughout the week.
We went out for breakfast at a local bagel shop and then over to Starbucks to enjoy a regular Saturday morning together.
It was such a nice day that we decided to head over to a mall area that we enjoy hanging out at so that we could walk around.
We both wanted to just chill out today so once we finished walking around for a while we came home to binge-watch TV for a bit and relax. As we watched TV I fell in and out of sleep for a bit.
It was nice to recharge while relaxing, watching TV and spending time together.
