Day 324: A Little Known Fact About Me
Though I didn’t manage 10 hours of sleep again last night, I did get 8.5 hours which is still more than I receive at home. My deep sleep returned back to 2.5 hours of sleep like usual but I still felt rested when I woke up.
After finishing breakfast we headed to the pool. We jumped into the pool and went down the water slide a couple of times.
My skin got a little more burned than I thought yesterday so today we ensured that we hunted down an umbrella and I kept a t-shirt on.
I finished reading Ronda Rousey’s book, My Fight/Your Fight, and then jumped into "The Great War of Our Time: The CIA's Fight Against Terrorism--From al Qa'ida to ISIS” by former CIA Deputy Director Michael Morell.
It may seem like an odd jump between books but I enjoy staying on top of military, intelligence and political books in addition to fitness, productivity and biographical books.
What most people don’t know about me is that I graduated from undergraduate with a dual bachelor’s in criminal justice and sociology. I followed that up by becoming one of the first 150 people in the world (non-military) to graduate with a master’s in Homeland Security.
My original plan was to either go into the CIA, the Secret Service or the Diplomatic Security Service. I had gotten pretty far in the CIA recruitment process when I pulled out to pursue business/marketing. Suffice it to say that it is an interesting recruitment process.
It always makes for a great “something no one else would know” facts when doing ice breakers.
For dinner we decided to try a restaurant that we had passed last night on our walk. It was a great restaurant and we were the only ones dining there since it wasn’t on the beach.
It was another wonderful day on vacation. After spending the day in the sun, I’m exhausted and am looking forward to crashing for the night.
