Day 287: A Day Spent Walking Around
Like most Saturdays, today’s endurance workout was a warm-up of jumping rope for 3 minutes followed by 60 minutes on the elliptical.
I was glad that today was an endurance workout because my upper body, including my shoulders, are sore from all of the burpees during this week, including the 75 I performed yesterday.
With no plans for this long weekend beyond a couple of errands tomorrow, once Laura woke up we tried a new (for us) bagel spot and then went over to the mall to walk around.
Though we weren’t really shopping for anything, we wanted to get out of the house and, initially, the weather was a bit iffy so the mall was a good option.
Walking around the mall is always a great way to get in additional steps, thus helping me to have already hit almost 18,000 steps before the day ends.
The weather had cleared up by the time we left the mall so we decided to stop by a couple of car dealerships just to poke around.
We aren’t in the market for a new car since both of our leases aren’t up for a minimum of 1.5 years but it was still fun to see what the new models looked like.
After coming back home we spent the rest of the afternoon and evening just relaxing, binge-watching Entourage and enjoying the weekend.
Depending on the weather, we’ll likely go for a walk tomorrow and find something else to do such as head over to Los Gatos.
On Monday I think we’re going to spend some time at Half Moon Bay over-looking the Pacific Ocean - something that we never get to do and would be even more fun to do on a holiday.
It’s nice to have a chance to fully relax and recharge after how busy work has been lately.
