Day 218: A Wave of Fatigue
Though I slept for more than 8 hours last night, when I woke up I felt immediate fatigue.
After taking care of Sasha and Darren I laid down on the couch, spending the entire morning laying down while watching the NCAA conference championship games.
Apparently I must have looked as though I wasn’t feeling well because when Laura woke up she immediately asked what was the matter.
We continued to relax for a while until I finally pulled myself up and we got ready to run errands.
The list of errands was long and took a few hours so we were never able to get out for a walk even though we really wanted to.
While running errands, in addition to the fatigue, I was a bit more nauseous than I had been earlier in the week.
I didn’t take the Zofran last night since I’m not taking the chemo pills for another few weeks and I’m wondering if that contributed to the way I felt today.
Today’s Spartan WOD was to get in 30 minutes of a walk/jog/run which I was hoping would be our walk.
But, I’m not concerned about not working out today because my body needed a day off due to the fatigue that I have been feeling and the soreness throughout my body especially in my legs.
Today was the most fatigue I have felt all week. It will be interesting to see if the sixth day during the next round of chemo is when I feel a wave of fatigue wash over me.
I’m glad that the fatigue set in on a weekend because even pushing through it with running errands was hard.
I felt good to be out and the fatigue faded into the background but it was still there throughout the day.
For dinner tonight Laura made one of our favorite dishes, thanks to Pinterest: sweet potato, black bean and kale quesadillas. We use a low-carb, high fiber tortilla to make them even healthier.
Tomorrow it is back to the office for me with a busy week ahead.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us especially as we have started this next phase of the journey. It is always very much appreciated.
