Day 127: A Normal Sunday Running Errands
Though we didn’t get to sleep until around 11:15p last night, I slept until 7:45a this morning…a far cry from when I used to get up at 4:45a on the weekdays and 6:15a on the weekends.
As soon as I woke up I took my pre-workout drink and headed next door to get in a chest workout. I performed the following workout:
- Dumbbell Floor Press - 4 sets x 12, 10, 8, 6 reps
- Pushups - 4 rounds (20 secs on x 20 secs rest)
- Machine Bench Press - 4 sets x 12, 10, 8, 6 reps
- Finisher: Jump Rope tabata
The workout only took approximately 25 minutes but it stressed my shoulders and exhausted my chest. I had never tried floor presses before so that was fun to try since there isn’t a bench press at our community’s gym.
After Laura woke up we headed out to run our regular Sunday errands including getting my hair cut.
Every time I get my hair cut I have to explain what happened with my brain surgery. I have to warn them to be careful near the scar and then inevitably ask where it came from.
Though it was chilly out, when we came back from running errands we headed out for a walk. We were originally only planning on going for a 3 mile walk but decided to keep pushing for nearly another 1.5 miles. We ended up walking at our fastest pace to date with an average of 17.7 minutes per mile.
It was nice to get back on track with our Sunday walks. It gives us time to spend together, talk through our upcoming week and any big decisions that we may have coming up such as Friday’s decision and moving.
Before jumping into my weekly review, I spent the evening tackling a few small house projects that I have been putting off.
Another rainstorm is pushing into the area and, according to local news, we’re supposed to get rain every day with the exception of Thursday.
Besides being a rainy week, this week will be significant as we visit with the UCSF epilepsy team tomorrow and then close out our week with another MRI (the 2nd in 4 weeks) and making our decision about chemo.
