When I woke up at 7:05a this morning I immediately became worried that something happened since Sasha hadn’t woken me up. Fortunately all was well. It was a relief that today was a rest day because my legs and upper back were really sore after my workouts the last couple of days.
Read MoreEven though I slept for about my normal 7.5 hours of sleep, it was one of those nights where I felt as though I slept harder than other nights. When I woke up I went over to the gym to tackle today’s WOD.
Read MoreThough it was only an additional 45 minutes, it was nice getting to sleep in since I worked from home today. It was another day of non-stop meetings, bringing my total for this week to 30 meetings. It was actually a fairly normal week for the number of meetings that I had but with our conference coming up, meetings popped up leaving limited time to get other work done.
Read MoreIt was nice hitting a 10-day streak, including another 4 hours of deep sleep. Today was an insane day with back-to-back meetings for 5 hours with only a single 15 minute break which I used to sprint downstairs, grab lunch and save for a meeting that I could eat it during.
Read MoreSince I wasn’t going in to the office today due to my doctor’s appointment, I was able to sleep in an extra 30-45 minutes, similar to what my schedule is on Fridays. That was especially nice because we stayed up later than usual last night.
Read MoreFor a few weeks, no matter how much I slept, I still only got between 2.5-3 hours of deep sleep. However, the past several nights I have gotten 4 hours or more. I’m not sure what has changed but I’m not complaining. Today was another non-stop day of meetings. No matter how many years I’ve been through it, every year I seem to forget just how crazy Synergy gets in the weeks leading up to the event, especially with last-minute requests.
Read MoreIt was great waking up at 1:30a and feeling as though I had slept all night. That meant the other 4.5 hours felt like “extra” sleep, even though that wasn’t the case. Today was a busy day with meetings unevenly spaced so that I didn’t have real time to do any work until 2:30p, thus only giving me about 1.5 hours before having to leave to head home.
Read MoreIt was nice getting another 7.5 hours of sleep last night but what was even nicer was getting nearly 5 hours of deep sleep. Today was a much needed rest day from my workouts. Even though I spent time yesterday rolling out my legs, my right calf was still really sore this morning after yesterday’s cardio session.
Read MoreI was able to hit a 5-day streak today with another 7.5 hours of sleep logged last night. After taking care of Sasha and Darren I went over to tackle today’s workout which called for 120 minutes of running/walking.
Read MoreFridays are nice because I don’t set an alarm. I do wake up with Laura’s alarm but it is set for 45 minutes later than mine is. That doesn’t always make Sasha happy but she deals with it. It was nice working from home today, getting to hang out with Sasha and Darren. Though I really enjoy going into my office since I work with amazing friends and colleagues, it is nice to take Sasha for a walk mid-morning too.
Read MoreAfter only getting 5.5 hours of sleep on Sunday night, it was good to hit a 3-day streak again last night with another 7 hours logged. Not getting enough sleep happens from time to time but it is something that I try to limit especially these days.
Read MoreToday was a non-stop day jumping from meeting to meeting while trying to squeeze in some work during the downtime. During the day I didn’t stop to charge my Jawbone UP24 so from 11:30a-5:30p it didn’t track anything, including the 8 flights of stairs that I climbed during that time. I average 15-20 flights of stairs per day.
Read MoreGetting a full night of sleep last night helped to give me more energy this morning when I woke up. There were no lingering side effects from the chemo, no fatigue like I felt last time on the sixth day. My meeting schedule resumed in full force today after several days of being slower while I was going through chemo.
Read MoreDuring these first two rounds of chemo I have needed at least 8 hours of sleep per night to feel ok in the morning. Last night I only got 5.5 hours before my alarm went off to get ready for work. In my infinite wisdom I decided that the day I would push myself to go into the office would be the morning after being out late and not getting sufficient sleep. Of course, I didn’t realize this until I was in the shower, already waking up and committed to the idea.
Read MoreAfter publishing my update last night we had a minor scare with the chemo pills. Since I have to wash my hands before and after handling the pills, I take the pills right next to our kitchen sink. Well, I wasn’t paying attention to where my hands were and when I popped them out of their blister pack, one fell right into the garbage disposal.
