Going through all of the final checks with the doctors since we're going HOME today!!! After 12 days in the hospital it will be awesome to see Sasha and Darren, sleep in my own bed, be able to binge watch Netflix and start taking my vitamins again.
Read MoreWe're continuing to work on pain control today in anticipation of heading home tomorrow or Saturday. I'm going to increase my physical activity by about 30% today over the previous couple of days. My goal is to increase every day. Every day won't be 30% but I will do more than the previous day.
Read MoreTalked with the ortho surgeon last night and I'll never be able to lift heavy weights again. Once I recover in a few months I will turn to other types of fitness and supplementation, likely including yoga and resistance band training.
Read MoreToday has been a busy day so far. It started with going back down to the OR so that the anesthesiologist could reset the nerve block in my neck from yesterday's surgery. I then had an echo cardio gram to map my heart in prep for the brain surgery.

Read MoreThe pain in my shoulders became excruciating last night so the nursing staff had to come in every couple hours overnight to give me a variety of pain meds. The pain was also causing me to shake uncontrollably and caused my temperature to go up.
Read MoreMet with the ortho surgeon today to prepare for tomorrow's surgery. He said they have never had a case where they've had to do both shoulders and that's why they need to split the surgeries between Friday and Monday.
Read MoreSurgery on my right shoulder has been scheduled for Friday followed by 2 days of recovery before having surgery on my left shoulder on Monday. I will be staying here through then and then will be transferred to UCSF for the brain surgery, probably late next week but they're still working on getting that scheduled.
Read MoreAfter meeting with the shoulder surgeon, the reduction scheduled for this morning has been canceled. When he looked at all of my files, as well as sending them to one of the top shoulder surgeons in the country at Harvard, it was determined that both shoulders are not only dislocated but they are also both fractured. Of course, this is a rare case that they don't usually see.
