Day 498: A Sleepy Sunday
Today was the first Sunday in a long time that I didn’t go to the gym as soon as I woke up since it was my off day from the kettlebell challenge.
After taking Sasha outside, I grabbed my foam roller and other mobility gear for some painful rolling to break up the soreness in my back, shoulders and neck. My hamstrings weren’t sore from the kettlebell swings, though I still spent time focused on them as well.
It’s pretty cool that the 10,000 swing challenge went from two of us deciding to do it to a total of 5 of us now keeping each other accountable, sharing information, etc.
While Laura slept I started helping her with a big work project - folding, stuff and sealing 400 holiday cards for their team members. By the time she woke up I was able to make a small dent in it so it only took us about 1.5 hours once she jumped in to help.
Thankfully we only had to run over to the grocery store. Last weekend we ran additional errands with the hope of avoiding Target and the mall this weekend. Not only is Target inside of the mall but so is a large movie theater. With the craziness around Star Wars, we wanted to stay as far away as possible which we succeeded in doing.
Over the last few days I have had to deal with several issues surrounding Laura’s final Christmas gift. After yesterday’s conversation with customer service, I fully expected to have to call them back tomorrow but then got a surprise email today that the gift had shipped and would be here by Tuesday. That made me happy since I was stressing about it a bit.
By late afternoon I could barely keep my eyes open. It was how I feel after coming off of a red-eye flight. I don’t know why I was so tired since I slept well last night but I kept dozing off. Laura and I decided to take a quick nap which turned into a 1.5 hour nap.
It will be nice to have a short week followed by the long Christmas weekend. I really look forward to this time every year because, not only do I love Christmas, but it is a good opportunity to catch up and close out the year while planning for the upcoming year.
