Day 477: Our Final Full Day in Connecticut

When going to bed last night I knew that my sleep goal streak would be broken since I stayed up late at my grandparents hotel and then back here at the house.

What I didn’t think would happen would be that I would only get a little more than an hour of deep sleep. My UP app said that I woke up four times throughout the night though I only remember waking up once to go to the bathroom.

Before the day got underway I snuck over to the gym for my final workout before flying back home tomorrow:

Chest

  • Dumbbell Bench Press - 1 x 12 reps (50 lbs), 2 x 10 reps (50 lbs, 55 lbs), 1 x 8 reps (60 lbs)
  • Dumbbell Incline Press - 1 x 10 reps (50 lbs), 2 x 8 reps (50 lbs)
  • Underhand Cable Crossovers - 3 x 15 reps (50 lbs, 30 lbs, 30 lbs)
  • Dumbbell Flyes - 3 x 15 reps (27.5 lbs)

Biceps

  • Standing Preacher Curls - 1 x 12 reps (30 lbs), 1 x 8 reps (50 lbs), 2 x 8 reps 60 lbs)
  • Incline Bicep Curls - 2 x 8 reps (27.5 lb dumbbells)
  • Dumbbell Hammer Curls: 1 x 15 reps (27.5 lb dumbbells)

I didn’t feel as strong as I have felt on Sundays but I lifted in a fasted state and without my pre-workout drink. I was also battling tightness in my left shoulder which I continually tried to work out.

I had to cut the end of my workout short since I had to get back to the house for breakfast but my biceps were destroyed by the end of my lifting session anyway. It felt good mixing up my lifts with underhand cable crossovers and preacher curls.

Constantly changing up workouts is important to keep your muscles guessing while also growing.

After breakfast we spent a couple of hours decorating the Christmas tree with ornaments followed by taking our annual family photos.

This year it was even more fun since we had our niece and she was amazed by the shiny ornaments and as we tried to get her settled for photos.

The rest of the day was spent cleaning up the house and getting ready to fly out tomorrow since, besides our flight back to California, my mother-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law and niece are all flying to Germany and Austria to visit the Christmas markets.
