Day 428: A Sunday Filled with Errands and Cleaning
I was able to string together another 8 hours of sleep last night including getting nearly 5 hours of deep sleep. After not getting more than 2.5 hours of deep sleep during my eighth round of chemo, this weekend was nice to get my sleep back on track.
I went to the gym this morning with the goal of beating what I was able to do for the HIIT routine that I tackled on Thursday. The workout was:
Warm Up:
- 100 jumping jacks
Main Set:
- Explosive Sumo Squats - 12 reps
- Shoulder Tap Push-Ups - 12 reps
- Burpees - 12 reps
- Plank Pike - 12 reps
- Lateral Jumps - 12 reps
- Tuck Jump - 12 reps
AMRAP - 15 minutes
Whereas on Thursday I was only able to get through a second round of shoulder tap push-ups, today I was able to get through a second round of plank pikes before hitting the 15 minute mark.
Even though there was a lot of stress on my shoulders during the tap push-ups, burpees and planks, they felt great. They were tired by the time I got to the second round of burpees but I had no issues finishing off my workout.
When Laura woke up we headed out to run a couple hours of errands. While we always have an errand or two to run on the weekends, it has fallen into a routine where every few weeks we have a laundry list of errands.
I was hoping that we would get out for our Sunday walk but with the amount of cleaning and house projects we had to do we weren’t able to.
Though we weren’t able to go for a walk, we did accomplish everything that was on our to-do list for today which makes me feel accomplished.
There are a few things that we’ll do on Tuesday and Wednesday night right before my friend gets here late Wednesday night.
It’s been a fun and relaxing weekend so far but tomorrow it’s time to get back to the grind at work which is also filled with fun.
