Day 400: Let There Be Football

After getting under 7 hours of sleep the past couple of nights, last night I was able to get north of 8 hours of sleep with 5 hours of it being deep sleep. I felt great when I woke up.

My legs, upper back and shoulders were sore from yesterday’s workout which made me happy. I’m sure that will only increase by tomorrow since I typically have delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS).

Since I won’t be able to workout tomorrow due to a work dinner, I went to the gym this morning and tackled the Spartan Abs 300 workout:

Warm-up

  • Dynamic warm up
  • Cycle - 5 minutes

Main Set

  • 10 sit-ups w/12 lb medicine ball
  • 10 leg raises w/4 lb medicine ball between feet
  • 10 sit-ups w/12 lb medicine ball
  • 10 mountain climbers
  • 10 sit-ups w/12 lb medicine ball
  • 10-30 second plank
  • 10 burpees

Repeat main set 3 times.

Cool Down

  • Stretch

Adding the medicine balls made it a much harder workout than the one originally dictated by Spartan.

It’s one of those workouts that doesn’t look that hard but when you realize that it is a total of 180 reps plus 1.5 minutes of planks, it is much more exhausting.

I enjoyed doing a (mostly) abs workout since I have always been a fan of targeting my abs.

With it being the first Sunday of the NFL season I tried watching as much football as possible while also watching my fantasy team get slaughtered.

We did have to leave for a few hours to run our typical errands. But, once we got back home we didn’t end up going for a walk like we originally wanted to because Laura is still not feeling too hot from the head cold she had earlier this week.

While watching football I spent time working on the Built Unstoppable book proposal. It’ll likely take me another weekend or so before I feel comfortable with sharing it with a few friends who have offered to review it.

Tonight we’re watching the Giants vs Cowboys football game while having sweet potato, black bean and kale quesadillas using low carb quesadillas, Greek yogurt, avocado and salsa.

The majority of our global team is in town this week so it will be good to see everyone including enjoying a few good meals with them.
