Day 220: Trying Body-Ups Again
When my alarm went off at 5:00a I felt fatigued like I did yesterday so I set my alarm for 6:15a and passed back out.
I wonder how much of this is fatigue from the chemo or it being hard for me to get back to waking up early after sleeping in last week.
I postponed my workout until I got home from work and decided to head into the office.
Today was filled with nearly nonstop back-to-back meetings but the day flowed well and I was able to still get several things accomplished.
Over the past two days I have had many people stop by my office or stop me in the hallway to check on me.
It is always encouraging to continually have the support of so many friends, family, colleagues and others.
I left work a few minutes early to see if adjusting my schedule would help me beat rush hour traffic a bit more.
On my way home I stopped at the grocery store to pick Laura up some “just because” flowers for the first time in nearly 6 months.
I used to surprise Laura with flowers all the time but when I lost my license and we both started working from home it didn’t give me the opportunity to either stop at the store or send flowers to her office.
When I got home I downed my pre-workout and headed over to the gym to knock out today’s Spartan WOD:
Warm-up
- Jump Rope – 3 minutes
- 15 Star Jumps
- 15 Double Leg Butt Kicks
Main Set
- 15 body-ups
- 3 min, non-stop, Bear Crawl + Backwards Running.
- 3 min, non-stop, Lateral Ape Walks + Jumping Jacks.
- 1 100’ Backwards Walking Lunge
- 10 Diamond push-ups
15 minute easy/recovery run (scaled to a fast-paced walk up to a 7% incline).
Cool Down
It was my first time in a long time doing body-ups which are pretty hard to do especially with my shoulders still healing.
By the time I was finished I had to limp back home due to soreness through my shins, calves and ankles.
I took some time when I got back upstairs to go through some shin and calf mobilizations to help with the soreness.
For the first time since moving here we ordered Munchery for dinner. We found out that they don’t deliver to where we live but we did learn that they will deliver to Laura’s office so we finally ordered again this week.
