Day 206: Getting My License Back (Again)

Before going to bed last night I spent time stretching due to soreness throughout my feet, calves and shins however when I woke up this morning that soreness was still there.

I decided to head back to bed to give my body a day to rest. I’m sure the soreness has come from all of the running that I’ve done in the last few days. Hopefully taking today off helps my body to heal and I’ll get back at it tomorrow morning.

With only two days of work before leaving tomorrow night for the weekend, today was a busy day of back-to-back meetings and a mile long to-do list. It always seems like on the days when I have no time is when you are able to get the most done.

Towards the end of the day I called the DMV to check on the status of my license. I was very happy to find out that my license has been reinstated again!

It has been a long 6 months, with the exception of 1.5 weeks, of not being able to drive. It’s one thing to choose not to drive but it is yet another to be told you’re not allowed to drive.

I’m looking forward to driving again with my first opportunity likely being tomorrow night when we leave for Solvang.

After talking with the DMV I checked in on the status of my fertility clinic visit. They let me know that the test was successful and they had frozen four vials.

There’s a sense of security knowing that if the chemo treatment does affect fertility that we have these vials to use so that we can still have a family.

The night included meeting with our new pet sitters since our prior sitter doesn’t service the area that we moved to. Sasha and Darren both really loved them, spending the entire time showing off.

After not working out this morning I’m looking forward to tomorrow morning’s workout before having a very busy day at the office.

At least the busy day will conclude with a nice drive south to Solvang for a few days in beautiful Santa Ynez Valley spent with Laura and many very close friends.
